Thirty eight years after Bob Crane was murdered, Phoenix Fox-owned station KSAZ may be able to solve the case on live TV.
Crane was the star of Hogan’s Heroes, a comedy show set in World War II that ran six seasons until 1971. Crane’s friend Bob Carpenter was initially suspected of bludgeoning Crane to death with camera tripod, but he was never convicted.
Now, KSAZ reporter John Hook will reveal the results of his one and half year investigation into the case.
The Fox-owned station says the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office allowed Hook to retest the original blood evidence found in Carpenter’s car the day after the murder. Hook is hoping modern DNA techniques can answer the question of who did it.
KSAZ says the results will be revealed Monday night on its 9 p.m. newscast

In 2002 they made a film about Crane called Auto Focus which documents his descent into filth. In the end it cost him everything he had....his marriage, his family, his home, his reputation, his career, his livelihood....and, ultimately, his life.

All the Germans on the show were Jewish and all but Major Hochstetter were in the United States Army in WW2. Hochstetter was a bluegrass artist from Nashville.

Their one demand was that the Germans never win, but there was never any danger of that. When I was small, I thought the show was stupid since they were always outside the walls but never escaped. When I got older, I realized escape was not their motive, and I came to love the show.
From what I found, Crane was killed by a Mexican illegal alien drifter who was forcibly sodomized by Crane.
The Mexican waited for Crane to fall asleep in a drunken stupor and then cracked his skull open with the camera tripod.
All decadence, and especially homosexual perversion will ultimately bring hell and pain to the practitioner.

Kinch was so much better than the other guy. Any black guy who could put on a Nazi uniform set up a fake checkpoint in the road and get the German truck drivers to stop every time had to be a great actor. Seriously Ivan Dixon was the best. I also loved the fact that Werner Klemperer’s father Otto managed to get the family out of Germany in 1935 to escape the Nazis.
