It wouldn’t surprise me if the first foreign policy crisis of the Trump administration is not in the jihadi world but in Korea. (The Chinese might decided to test Trump in the Senkakus, but I think they’ll be more patient and let Kim JU try something instead.) Trump would have to respond in a measured but forceful manner, or risk losing the trust of all the players in the East Asian region (Japan, SKorea, Taiwan, Philippines, Singapore, Viet Nam).
