I hope they now count EVERY absentee ballot to see if he also won the popular vote. I’ve read that once a winner is declared, they don’t bother with the absentee ballots- which run mostly Republican.

I believe that is true. Unless there are enough absentee ballots to change the outcome, they do not count them. Another reason not to vote absentee unless you really are going to be out of town, not just because you don't feel like standing in line. Your vote will not show up in the nationwide total.

I would dispute the absentees being mostly Republican. Double voting college kids and snowbirds make up a big part of absentee votes , especially in the upper Midwest and Northeast.

All ballots eventually get counted in our state. They need to check and see if an absentee ballot was voted as well as a provisional ballot was voted on Election Day. Chances to root out some fraudulent behavior.
