Trump-backing congressman says GOP will use budget 'reconciliation' to repeal Obamacare in first 100 days depriving Democrats of the chance to filibuster it
* Rep. Chris Collins, the first Republican to endorse President-elect Trump, says the GOP will move legislation to repeal Obamacare within Trump's first 100 days
* Party would use budget procedure that would let them jam it through on a simple majority vote, depriving Senate Democrats of the filibuster
* Medical device tax, 30-hour workweek for coverage, employer mandate, employee mandate all could go, gutting the plan
* Says there would be a 'transition' for 2017
The Republican push to repeal Obamacare is going on a fast track under a procedure that would make minority Democrats powerless to stop it, the first Republican congressman to endorse President-elect Donald Trump said Friday.
Republicans who now have unified control of Congress plan to move to repeal Obamacare during the first 100 days of the incoming Trump administration, said Rep. Chris Collins (R-NY).
They would do this under a budget procedure called 'reconciliation,' which requires a simple majority vote to approve tax and spending changes.

No happy emotions from the mods: :) "Yesssssssss!"
That’s exactly the way it was passed (in the dead of night) by the dims, so that is only fair.
The GOP finally acting like winners. Good for all if us!
The delicious irony.
There has to be a few Democrats who think it’s a bad plan anyways. Should try to get them on board too
As long as we don’t have to fight our own party to get the 50%.
Supposedly instead of moving to Hawaii Barack and Moochie are staying in Washington, DC after Trump assumes the presidency.
Barack wants to be there to "protect his legacy".
(and stir up trouble for Trump)
With Hillary knocked off the throne Obama wants to keep his position as democrat party leader.
Hehehe! ;-)
The likewise corrupt Democratic lawmakers who passed unconstitutional Obamacare wrongly ignored that the states have never expressly constitutionally delegated to the feds the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for INTRAstate healthcare purposes. Previous generations of state sovereignty-respecting justices had clarified this as follows.
Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States. Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
State inspection laws, health laws, and laws for regulating the internal commerce of a State, and those which respect turnpike roads, ferries, &c. are not within the power granted to Congress [emphases added]. Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]. United States v. Butler, 1936.
Patriots need to get Trump up to speed with the feds constitutionally limited powers before the RINOs indoctrinate him with the wrong ideas.
Good, Great, Fantastic!!!
Trump and company are going to hit the ground running, and the RATS will scatter to their holes again!!!
Thanks Jim....
Great, because I haven’t been paying my health insurance bill and now I won’t get penalized a thousand dollars. Mr. Trump just put a thousand dollars in my pocket. Thanks Mr. Trump.
Hopefully all of the mods and Jim are enjoying this as much as we deplorables are!
Wondered if I’d ever see this day. God Bless America. Drain the swamp. Praying now harder than ever.
Pretty soon we’re going to get sick of winning. This is great news.
The anticipation for a great Trump Administration gets betterer and betterer every day!
Concur
You bet! We here in Modville are quite a basket of deplorables! ;-)
Jim,
I was fortunate enough to find and join FreeRepublic in the fall of 1998.
I have been a believer and fighter for FreeRepublic’s values which mirror my own ever since.
This week my prayers were answered and our shared values validated at the ballot box.
The man newly elected to the presidency of the United States of America is truly My President.
An incredible feeling.
Donald Trump will face a wall of resistance.
I am going to help him anyway I can to succeed.
I have real hope for America as founded, for the first time in my life.
Thanks for FreeRepublic Jim.
