Trump-backing congressman says GOP will use budget 'reconciliation' to repeal Obamacare in first 100 days – depriving Democrats of the chance to filibuster it

* Rep. Chris Collins, the first Republican to endorse President-elect Trump, says the GOP will move legislation to repeal Obamacare within Trump's first 100 days

* Party would use budget procedure that would let them jam it through on a simple majority vote, depriving Senate Democrats of the filibuster

* Medical device tax, 30-hour workweek for coverage, employer mandate, employee mandate all could go, gutting the plan

* Says there would be a 'transition' for 2017

The Republican push to repeal Obamacare is going on a fast track under a procedure that would make minority Democrats powerless to stop it, the first Republican congressman to endorse President-elect Donald Trump said Friday.

Republicans who now have unified control of Congress plan to move to repeal Obamacare during the first 100 days of the incoming Trump administration, said Rep. Chris Collins (R-NY).

They would do this under a budget procedure called 'reconciliation,' which requires a simple majority vote to approve tax and spending changes.

I don’t appreciate your language or the tone behind it: “ constitutionally low-information president-elect Trump.”

E. Pres. Trump a lot smarter than you suppose is not a Low-Info guy that would trample the Constitution to institute policy.

He’s unlike the other guy who spouted the defense of the Constitution ad nauseam and then voted against the same.

Yep.

Add: All "Climate Change"/"Gorebull Wahruming" federal financing ZEROED.

And that includes any "Alternate Energy" funding for projects that were justified to "reduce CO2 emissions" or "reduce 'carbon footprint'"...

Thank you for your opinion Beautiful_Gracious_Skies.

Patriots need to know for certain that Trump is aware of the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers for the following reason. Patriots need to work with Trump to politically force the corrupt feds to surrender state power that the feds have been stealing from the states for the last 100+ years back to the states.

If Trump and patriots fail to do this, then it is only a matter of time before citizens are oppressed with another lawless president and corrupt Congress who continue to use stolen state powers to harm the states and the people.

They would do this under a budget procedure called 'reconciliation,' which requires a simple majority vote to approve tax and spending changes.

Chief Justice Roberts certified it was a tax so they are all clear there. Ironic!

On the radio this morning was a report, to the effect that Trumps's plan to repeal Obamacare will (they used "will"), take a lot more time than anyone thinks, even years.

Some bozo decides to write a blurb for radio news, that has no basis in fact. Just to undermine and cause uncertainty.

Trump's 100% right about the media. They ARE filty, dishonest pigs.

Yes and because of what they did sticking it in a gutted spending bill, 51 votes is enough. If my memory is correct this past summer, one of the lawsuits SCJ "Roberts" ruled on I think said no, you need 60 votes.

Let um try to take it to the Surpremes, do it, ask permission later, Roberts can go pound sand...

"This is one reason why I am adamantly opposed to Trump's idea for an open national insurance market. There's nothing wrong with an insurance company in Iowa selling an insurance policy to a customer in New York, but it's going to have to meet the regulatory requirements of the State of New York"

Yes excellent point, Insurance with reciprocity agreements for licensing of agents, policies etc was one of the greatest examples of the 10th Amendment at work IMHO Evah! Obamacare fubar'd it, what States were the agents from? were they licensed? the Policy was from where? Obama took a baseball bat to Contract Law ( yes the policy is a "Contract" ) and the 10th Amendment w/ O-care and their are days I think I am the only guy that saw it. They both are in need of repair after what he did.
