Ministers will use Nigel Farage as an unofficial intermediary to build bridges with Donald Trump to ensure the special relationship does not falter in the wake of his election.
The Telegraph understands that ministers will be forced to seek Mr. Farages advice because they have no links to the President-elects inner circle.
Mrs. May spoke to Mr. Trump for the first time since his victory but not until after he had spoken to the leaders of at least nine other nations. Downing Street said that during the call, Mr. Trump said that the UK is a very, very special place for me and for our country and suggested that he wants their relationship to be similar to the one enjoyed by Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan.
But the delay in talking to the President-elect led to accusations that the Government had undermined its relationship with Washington by failing to anticipate Mr. Trumps success.

More Nigel!
The Brits have stepped in it time and time again. They are howling with hatred all over FB today. Unfortunately, I think Farage is despised by the Tories just as Trump is. Personally, I hope they have to drag themselves on their knees to Trump. They disgust me.
The Brits have been dumbing themselves down since Clement Attlee.
Farage interviewed by BBC on election night, when the outcome was still up in the air. Funny, insightful =>

You,know, Trump could tap Maggie Thatchers granddaughter, I believe she lives here. She has a great head on her shoulders from the last article I read about her.
Nigel is awesome! Trump knows he’s very sharp... we’ll be seeing more of him over the next 4-8 yrs
as for the US and the UK... Trump’s first act should be to restore the Churchill bust.
good for relations ... and pokes 0bama in the eye, signaling “all the damage you did will be undone”
The Tories were already too far left in Thatcher’s day.
It’s been officially denied, which must mean it’s true.
Well, there’s that...
Could you script this any better if you had complete control?
You mean the virtue-signalling uber-liberal ninny Brits who would have been Hillary supporters had they been Americans have been howling with hatred? Britain voted to leave the EU, and now the US has voted to put Trump in the White House. Driving the UK away now would be a massive betrayal of an ally, and counterproductive. The same liberal globalists who wanted Hillary to win would love nothing more than to see Britain suffer for its people’s temerity to vote for their national sovereignty to be restored.
The Brits seem to think they’re the 51st State. They embarrass themselves with that stuff. I would go all out to verbally destroy them except I have some wonderful British friends who love Farage and Trump and I don’t want to insult them.
Mr. Farage, that happy warrior, was all over Fox this morning. No 10 might want to wake up and smell the coffee. (Does she make it?)
Farage and Trump are both bigger-than-life personalities. It is a delight to watch them succeed—and their success interacting.
That’s it! People don’t realize that both men are loaded with charisma. Hillary is a dry sponge in the corner of the sink. Guess who wins elections?
Guess this will continue to develop for a while...now the infighting has started. LOL.
