About 2/3 of my Polish friends and colleagues were despondent with Duda's election, but I was there during Komorowski's campaign. The underlying disdain for non-leftists was palpable, and the energy and pride were clearly on Duda's side. Like with Trump, I really don't agree with Duda's economics, but he mobilized the Polish patriots. At least that's my outside view.
The problem for leftists in the EU is they see patriotism as the equivalent of nazi fascism. The American left is identical, except the American left has much clarified dreams of a nazi fascist state than the EU ever contemplated.
He lived under communism and loved America and the freedom it represented. To him it isn't a discussion on philosophy or trading ideas on what form of government works, he knows! I think Trump's victory gives the world hope that Democracy LIVES.
PiS stands for Prawo i Sprawiedliwosc, which in English is Law & Justice.
Such words, such values are enough for the EU marxists, actually any marxists, to get goosebumps all over their bodies. :-)
You hit the nail on the head.
The EU officials can't distinguish between a man who loves his own country more than others to the man who loves his country while hating others to death. A patriot in Poland is almost ALWAYS a Catholic living on The Ten Commandments, not a godless socialist or a godless national socialist ideology.
Jesus Christ taught us all, and we Polish patriots embraced that, the respect for life, honor, justice, mercy, self-perfection, inner humility before other people, self-sacrificing to others especially helpless, to all people, etc.
What of Nazi ideology can you find in these? Only the liberal fanatics from the EU Parliament will tell you.
Happy Independence Day!
From my impression, the Independence March is as twice as big as the last year’s one. This year’s motto is “Poland - The Stronghold (or The Fortress) of Europe”
It’s hard to tell now but one thing is obvious. For the time being it takes two hours to get through the same route and they’re still marching on and on.
Last year’s one was about an hour long.
Anyway, we must wait a few days before we get a footage from the cameras installed on the pillars of the bridge. They will be shown on YT.
