Most will be covered at work or by medicare.
Those with Obamacare coverage are mostly without real coverage because of extreme deductibles.
If they want coverage they can secure catastrophic coverage on the market that is probably less than Obamacare.
it’s no biggie
Just went to re-enroll in my BCBSIL plan from last year and it went up 132% for 2017
Unghh
Get the government out of the whole system. Every since that disgusting man Ted Kennedy got his fingers in the industry it’s gone to crap. What was wrong with the good ol’ days when a family doctor was paid cash, did house calls, or paid with chickens if you were broke? What happened to charity hospitals?
Why no ala cart care now? Why do I have to buy a plan that gives me gynocological care? Because the government wants the power and use health care as a political tool to punish and reward.
Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States. Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
State inspection laws, health laws, and laws for regulating the internal commerce of a State, and those which respect turnpike roads, ferries, &c. are not within the power granted to Congress [emphases added]. Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]. United States v. Butler, 1936.
In fact, lawless Obama should have tried to establish Obamacare in Illinois when he was a state senator. This would have given Illinois the opportunity to experiment with healthcare to try to make sure that it actually worked.
But the major problem not only for Illinois, but for all the states with respect to experimenting with their own healthcare programs is the following. Since the corrupt federal government has essentially been stealing state revenues from the states for many decades, stealing such revenues in the form of unconstitutional federal taxes, taxes which corrupt Congress cannot justify under its constitutional, Article I, Section 8-limited powers, the states basically cannot afford to experiment with healthcare programs as the Founding States had intended for them to do. Thomas Jefferson had explained it as follows.
"Our citizens have wisely formed themselves into one nation as to others and several States as among themselves. To the united nation belong our external and mutual relations; to each State, severally, the care of our persons [emphasis added], our property, our reputation and religious freedom." --Thomas Jefferson: To Rhode Island Assembly, 1801.
"The States should be left to do whatever acts they can do as well as the General Government." --Thomas Jefferson to John Harvie, 1790.
So patriots need to get the word to president-elect Trump to do either of the following.
Patriots need to encourage Trump to work with the state Houses and Congress to put a stop to unconstitutional federal taxes. Once unconstitutional federal taxes are gone, the states will undoutedly find a tsunami of new revenues to establish their own healthcare programs, and all sorts of other 10th Amendment-based social spending programs, for their respective citizens.
Or, if Trumpcare requires new constitutional authority outside the scope of the Commerce Clause (1.8.3), then citizen need to do the following. They need to work with Trump to successfully propose a healthcare amendment to the Constitution to the states so that Trumpcare will be constitutional. Note that the corrupt federal government wrongly ignored this very important constitutional step before establishing Obamacare.
Trump has a plan - probably a lot of his supporters will be pissed about the safety nets he puts in place because they’re too stupid to understand it is necessary to the effort to excise the cancer of ObamaCare....
With ObamaCare Collapsing, What Do We Do Next?
Allow competition.
Funny how so many conservatives on this forum still believe that government ought be part of the solution.
We apparently have a culture of when-convenient conservatives in the room.
We should let them pay the premiums for at least 6-12 months just to make the bloody point about their love for Obama-who-doesnt-Care
Pretty good article.
Been thinking today about what to do with the healthcare mess that exists in this country. Some thoughts:
1. Issue an obamacare waiver to all US citizens. Nobody has to pay a fine for not having health insurance.
2. Repeal HIPAA and the HiTech act. Easy and welcome way to demonstrate a commitment to reducing government regulations.
3. Establish a pilot program of say 1,000 employers where they will no longer be able to deduct health insurance premiums and their employees would buy health insurance directly from the insurance company. This test market would be as free of government intervention as possible. Provides a test environment for moving the entire private health insurance industry to individual policies as opposed to the current employer policies.
The idea is to return the power to the people and create a private marketplace free from government intervention. Get my government and my employer out of my health care.
It would seem to make perfect sense to get healthcare & insurance completely out of the realm of the federal gov’t. The money spent in that area is mostly a waste.
I want doctors, medical institutions, pharmaceutical companies and insurers who compete for my business.
Proposed legislation:
“The Affordable Health Care Act is hereby repealed in its entirety.”
Find the Democrat sponsors of Obamacare.
Put them in prison for life.
