I was giving a quick listen to Ben Sharpiro this morning and he’s claiming that Trump had about the same number of total votes as McCain in 2008 but Hillary lost about 10 million of the Obama votes. His point was that Trump did not draw out a lot of new votes. What he DID NOT address is how many Republican/Conservative votes were “repressed” due to his and other #nevertrumpers traitorous behavior this election cycle. Was it 100,000, 1 million, more? We will never know for sure, all we know is they stood on the sidelines during the battle and deserve no respect from me now. Oh well.....MAGA!

Hillary lost about 10 million of the Obama votes
Total popular vote (subject to updates) 119,700,993 for 2016.
Total popular vote 129,446,839 for 2008.
2016
59,723,757 Trump
59,977,236 Clinton
--------------------------
119,700,993
2008
69,498,516 Obama
59,948,323 McCain
--------------------------
129,446,839
According to those numbers, that 10 million did not switch to Trump. So, where did they go? Also, Trump did not pick up a sizeable cross-over.
Of course, these numbers will be analyzed for a long time.
2012
Obama 65,915,795
Romney 60,933,504
----------
126,849,299
