NEW YORK — Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Kaine on Wednesday praised Hillary Clinton and her candidacy in introductory remarks for his running mate in New York.
Kaine, speaking before campaign staffers and supporters, noted Clinton’s historic candidacy as the first female major party nominee and said she had won the popular vote.
“I’m proud of Hillary, because she loves this country,” said Kaine, who had tears in his eyes.
