Washington (CNN)An emphatically upbeat President Barack Obama promised Wednesday to work toward a "smooth transition" of power to the man he's spent the last year denigrating, insisting that despite his differences with President-elect Donald Trump he would uphold the central tenet of American democracy.
Speaking in the Rose Garden as some of his aides sobbed, Obama made a deliberate effort to counter Democrats' crushing sense of doom at the prospect of four years of President Trump. "It is no secret that the President-elect and I have some pretty significant differences," Obama said with Vice President Joe Biden at his side. "We are now all rooting for his success in uniting and leading the country."

Where has this Obama been. For the second time in his presidency I find myself agreeing with Obama. The first was when he pointed to the hurt he experienced as a child due to the absence of a father and how children needed fathers in their lives. (This was from a father's day speech, and he specifically addressed how this issue is a particular problem among black families.)

The cynic in me says the Democrat’s posturing is all for show. I HOPE I’m wrong. If so, I will CHANGE my attitude.

Agreed. Obama had NUMEROUS opportunities to act as a uniting force. And yet in virtually every instance, he chose to divide.

Have you forgotten so quickly that Obama is a liar?

Yes! They are not accepting of their loss. They certainly don’t have a conciliatory attitude about it. They’re up to no good.

This is what they say publicly. Behind the scenes, they are now busy plotting to undermine Trump and his agenda.
