I congratulate President-elect Trump on an amazing victory for the American worker. This affirms what we have long known, that Americans have resoundingly rejected the Obama-Clinton agenda of bigger government, intrusive regulation, executive overreach, and lawlessness that is killing innovation and jobs, squandering opportunity for working men and women, marginalizing our freedoms, and compromising our security.
This election astonished the pundits. This was a change election. Americans voted for Republicans because of a promise to go to Washington to reverse our current course, and end the Washington cartel -- a promise to drain the swamp. Now is the time to follow through on those words with action. We cannot wait even one day to begin implementing a conservative agenda that fulfills those commitments.
I look forward to working with the new administration to confirm conservative justices from the strong list of 21 jurists that was promised. I look forward to working with the new administration to repeal Obamacare, to once and for all secure the border and enforce our immigration laws, and to take action that will rebuild our military and stop radical Islamic terrorists from infiltrating our homeland.
I am eager to help lead the fight in the Senate to pass the conservative agenda that President-elect Trump promised to the American people.
Charting a course to recovery will not be easy, it will take resolve and commitment to undo the havoc wreaked on our country the last eight years. But the future of America is worth it. Defending freedom and preserving the Constitution is worth it.
He’s despicable.
Not true. Cruz advocated for the wall in his Senate campaign and spoke out against Obama’s executive amnesty long before the 2012 primary started.
He went into a troublesome area of the Constitution. There are good arguments that his birth circumstances, which wouldn’t have passed muster for his candidacy in Founding days, still shouldn’t. That said, some were willing to wink at this for the sake of someone who at least was culturally a lifelong US citizen and not subject to any allegiance claims of foreign lands, meeting the intent if not the letter. Barack Obama may have met the letter but not the intent.
It was much more seemly in that area for the president to be Donald Trump or even (barf) Hillary Clinton.
Cruz is OK as a conservative in most if not all areas. However he doesn’t know when to step aside and let God speak where he can’t.
Same here. He’d be good on SCOTUS.
Lyin Ted made his bed. He can go lie in it, forever.
My sincere hope is that Cruz’s constituents in Texas will send him the same letter I am sending to my Senator Heller. Don’t ever run for office in Nevada again while I live here, I’ll do my best to see you lose.
Heller is a nevertrumper. If he and the rest of our worthless Republican politicians had either kept their mouth shut or expended some effort in Trump’s behalf, Trump would not have lost Nevada by 2%.
Politics is the business of getting what you want from despicable people.
Nope, I’ll never forget how badly Cruz behaved during these past 12 months.
Worse yet, I believe he is utterly compromised, so as a result, I want him nowhere near the Supreme Court.
Ah, his legal woman proclaimed Ted is the face of God, back when the Cruz campaign set up shop in South Carolina... they claimed to be reenacting Gideon and sent out 300 preacher to bring them the victory. They ignored what instruments of victory Gideon’s army used for the victory.... Trumpets...
Primary his ass.
Cruz will never support Trump or this country. He’s a power-hungry globalist.

Agreed.
I don’t care what Cuban - Canadians think.
Dunno some of the exact details, but that seemed to be an “off” edge of the dominionist philosophy his old man preached. We can just walk up to God and demand anything we can think of, because God’s served the world up on a silver platter to Christians.
Well no, God hasn’t, and Christians wouldn’t yet even know what to do with it if He hypothetically had. God has been carrying on a plan which lets a large segment of the world stay pagan. They have a part in this drama too and can be blessed by the Christians, but the Christians are not going to own it.
I agree with Senator Cruz. This election was a rejection of the Obama-Clinton agenda.
That is only half of it. The victory was because of Donald Trump and the positive change he wanted to bring.
The beatitude about the meek inheriting the earth doesn’t add up to this kind of promise. It means that God will furnish their needs with the goods on earth, in many cases bountifully, but still not as to claim the entire thing.
Donald had a Hope that shows every hallmark of coming from God — and this given to a fellow who was pretty much non-religious at the time he began to get it.
Something evil was going on there. We would be right to press for an explanation. The Court is not a place for people with parochial points to prove.
Cruz is a genuine Christian conservative. You have blinders on if you can’t detect his sincerity about his faith.
He is far from the typical Harvard lawyer. Did most Harvard students have a chart of GOP winners on their wall during election night?
The bible says to give a reason for the hope that is within us. Donald did, and it was credible. Can Cruz do this?
