Wheeeeee!
Now, I hate to ask, but are these people TRUE Conservatives, or do we have a whole ‘nother bunch of RINOs to do battle with? ;)
Kind of a mixed bag that depends on the issue at hand, really. Kentucky is kind of a diverse state - rural coal, rural agriculture, urban, suburban, exurban, etc. I guess that exists in every state to a degree but our state is much longer across than it looks on a map and these different interests are very isolated from each other.
The gov, Bevin, is a TEA Party guy who challenged McConnell in the R primary four years ago. Lost, but had a respectable showing. Ran for gov two years ago, all the polls showed the Dem winning, and Bevin won by 3-4 points.
We’re a bunch knuckle-dragging tabacky-chewing toothless shoeless backwater maroon troglodytes. This is YUGE! The Democrat house has blocked any earnest efforts for reform. Now this state will, get cleaned up and in order. And Bevin is a good man. All the right people hate him.
BTW, I think his victory over the crooked Conway was at or near double digits.
