Libertarian VP nominee Bill Weld claims:"my belief is that the libertarian party pulls substantially more from Mr. Trump" @ 2:41 mark (video is available here).
I had heard that Weld has been raising money with this message as a way of getting those who want Hillary to win to donate money. Consistent with that, it also just so happens that the big dollars that the libertarians have been spending have apparently been on conservative talk radio.
The New York Times also has an op-ed saying that the Libertarians will tilt the election to Hillary Clinton. With just a few days before Election Day and all eyes fixed on the two leading candidates, its easy to overlook a remarkable fact: The Libertarian candidate for president, Gary Johnson, may tilt the election for Hillary Clinton. . . . As evidence, note that without the Libertarians and Green Party in the race, Trump is down by 1.8% as of Sunday, November 6th at Real Clear Politics. With the Libertarians and Green Party in the race, Trump is down 2.2%. Assuming that the Greens 1.8% are taken entirely from Hillary, to get a net loss of 0.4% from Trump you have to have 3.5% of the Libertarians vote come from Trump and 1.3% come from Hillary . . . .

Losertarian Party. Designed by progressives to help elect ‘RATS. Nothing more than that, IMHO.
THAT was the plan all along, you CREEPS!
this man should be whipped
I volunteer
You can bet the Johnson and his pageboy, Weld, will be voting for the Beast from Planet Clintoonie. They’ve got to keep corruption alive up in D.C.
Weld is an old alky globalist RINO tool - definitely not a libertarian
Thinking reverse of conventional wisdom:
Green Party Jill Stein is going to have Gary ‘Allepo’ Johnson’s poll numbers coming from Bernie Sanders Democrats.
Bill Weld will probably be getting a small amount of votes from stoners whose only issue is marijuana legalization. I’m guessing the stoner vote is probably more Democrat than Republican. Weld is simply laying down the groundwork to try to mitigate the violent rage of Hillary voters that will be heaped on him after Trump wins. Weld is taking from the Hillary vote.
It must be great to know you’re so far out in front that you always wind up behind.
Each election comes and goes, and the Libertarians by refusing to back the Republican candidate. help elect the party’s candidate that least agrees with them.
Totalitarianism really rocks eh Libertarians!
Hillary would be looking out for you. You gotta know that!
Oui!
I don't think the third-party vote (since Perot) is that big of a deal. Most of the votes are in deep blue or red states, where it wouldn't affect the outcome of the election.
There, people can safely cast a "protest" vote, without seriously believing it would make a difference if they voted for either major party candidate.
My state usually gets a higher percentage of third party votes than the US overall. But, it has been deep red for a very long time, and will be so for the foreseeable future.
A third-party vote can only make a difference in a purple "battleground" state. And, I don't think rational people are going to make that choice, if they think it means that their least favorite candidate will get elected.
the Libertarian PARTY pulls more from R’s than D’s, yes
but this year’s Lib candidate (with his leftwing politics) is pulling a lot more from HilLIARy....
Weld is the most ridiculous character in a race full of ridiculous characters. A “Libertarian” who is all-out Hillary running ON the ticket of a competing Presidential candidate and whose only media appearances are all pro-Hillary spots.
Vermin Supreme would be the straight man of the pair.
I think he is smoking what Johnson is....
If you know ANYONE who plans on voting for Johnson, try to talk some sense into them, we have 48 hours and the stakes are higher than ever. If Hillary wins we’ll have corruption, WW3, and the IRS enforcing Obamacare.
Every vote flipped from Johnson puts us closer to the mark.
True libertarians Believe in smaller government.
True libertarians Believe in smaller government.
I saw one Gary Johnson sign, and no Hillary signs, and someone was out putting up Multiple Trump Pence signs...
Well, sure. Weld has done more to help Hillary Clinton than Tim Kaine has.
So as your vote collapses and people go home on Tuesday, Trump should get more votes than Hillary is what you’re saying.....
