Last time I checked, the US Department of State.....DOES NOT....I repeat....DOES NOT.....give orders to the US Department of Defense.
One of the things that bothers me about this whole nightmare, is how people think that the SecState somehow has the authority to tell the military what to do. SecState will ask for help from the SecDef in the event that there’s an incident at a US Embassy or Consulate, IE Benghazi. That’s why the US Military has FAST Company, USMC SOC-MEUs, CIF Companies, ALERT Aircraft on tarmacs ready to go at a moments notice, and all sorts of other forces spread out all over the world conducting training or waiting for the shit to hit the fan. The Marines stationed at embassies, the MSGs, are there to protect the facility and the CLASSIFIED documents, etc, contained therein. Of course the Ambo, DCM, and some SES people will have some pull with the Marines, but at the end of the day, the Marines answer to their Chain of Command, not the State Dept’s chain of command.
The State Dept and it’s employees, HATE with a deep passion, the US Military(except for a very small handful). The State Dept sees the military as the root cause of all things evil in the world. Whereas the State Dept, see’s themselves as the cure-all for all things evil by worshiping dictators, tyrants, and giving away US taxpayer money.
So, if there was any truth to this and she was withholding getting them help, it probably means that she was withholding the request for assistance. Which show true evll and negligence. I wonder what would happen if Pat Smith and the surviving family members could sue her, blumenthal and their corrupt business interests responsible for the debacle in Libya, personally.
OK, it was Obama who did NOT give the order to save American lives.
And Sec of State took the heat.
Why would people lie to protect a boneheaded decision by Hussein Obama? If you've ever heard of Watergate, you know people went to jail to keep the President away from the break-in.
And why would a guy named Hussein not take action to save American lives? Didn't Hussein say he would side with the Muslims?
Infidels were killed and Muslims weren't. Hussein was obviously OK with that.
FYI:
National Command Authorities (NCA. . president and Sec Def) approve military operations involving border crossing authority.
Sec State has a significant role in assisting the NCA make that decision, meaning the Sec State helps the NCA evaluate the political implications. There are many others that are involved and have a voice but do not have a vote.
The theater CINC received his orders from the NCA, and that is how the chain works.
The theater CINC cannot on his own grant BCA. He needs NCA approval before he invades.
