Most of what we're seeing in this flood of "bombshell" stories is just noise at this point -- and by that I mean it's simply a massive volume of information that is dumped all over the internet, and there's really no way of knowing what is true and what is not at this point.

There's something absolutely worth noting when it comes to the Obama administration's dealings with the FBI in the Clinton investigation, though:

The Clinton campaign was caught completely off guard by Comey's 10/28 letter to Congress. If nothing else, this tells me that the leadership of the Justice Department didn't know about it either -- because they certainly would have tipped her off about it.

The only plausible scenario that makes any sense to me here is that the FBI -- or at least a number of its agents -- is conducting its Clinton investigations under the assumption that their own leadership cannot be trusted.
