The FBI and U.S. intelligence agencies are examining faked documents aimed at discrediting the Hillary Clinton campaign as part of a broader investigation into what U.S. officials believe has been an attempt by Russia to disrupt the presidential election, people with knowledge of the matter said.
U.S. Senator Tom Carper, a Democrat on the Senate Homeland Security Committee, has referred one of the documents to the FBI for investigation on the grounds that his name and stationery were forged to appear authentic, some of the sources who had knowledge of that discussion said.
In the letter identified as fake, Carper is quoted as writing to Clinton, “We will not let you lose this election,” a person who saw the document told Reuters.

This quote is the most useful. IOW, there were apparently some faked docs “circulating” as well as the (mountains) of REAL leaked stuff. So naturally they have to sift the real from the fake, one thing. Second, the “Russia” crap is put in by the Dem ahole writer, and third, good chance that any faked docs are done by Dems themslves to muddy the water. Example - most “hate crimes” against fags and blacks and even mozlems are all faked by the “victims”.
As part of an investigation into suspected Russian hacking, FBI investigators have also asked Democratic Party officials to provide copies of other suspected faked documents that have been circulating along with emails and other legitimate documents taken in the hack, people involved in those conversations said.
A spokesman for the FBI confirmed the agency was “in receipt of a complaint about an alleged fake letter” related to the election but declined further comment. Others with knowledge of the matter said the FBI was also examining other fake documents that recently surfaced.

I read the whole article right after that. So there are some fake documents “circulating”. Probably created by the HRC campaign/DNC to taint the read ones.
Also there is NO “direct quote” from the FBI peeps. Direct quotes are different from “saying that someone said something” which can be paraphrasing, taken out of context, missing the main part, etc. As in, note my tagline.

I think we all know that one of the Hillary’s cap tactics would be to try and create doubt about Wilileaks by creating fake ones. As predictable as Obama getting pissed off and throwing a tantrum in front of people when he’s having a bad day ....

Classic “muddy the waters” move.
They will lie, cheat, steal, and any other dirty trick they can devise. I expect that from them. What makes the heinous difference in this and the last presidential election, is the complicity of the press. Without a free press, our democratic republic cannot stand. It’s outrageous and maddening, because apparently, there is NOTHING Clinton could do that would cause the press to report unfavorably about her. They are determined to blackout any story that shows how unfit for office she is. When you tell a democrat some of the things discovered about her, they refuse to believe. It’s reprehensible. Pray without ceasing.
