Two former allies of New Jersey Governor Chris Christie were convicted on Friday for their roles in the "Bridgegate" lane closure scandal, following a six-week trial that served to further tarnish the Republican's damaged reputation.

Bridget Kelly, the governor's former deputy chief of staff, and Bill Baroni, former deputy executive director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, were found guilty in Newark federal court on all counts, the U.S. Attorney's office in New Jersey said on Twitter.

Kelly and Baroni were convicted of fraud, conspiracy and depriving the residents of Fort Lee, New Jersey, of their civil rights.

"former Port Authority official and confessed mastermind David Wildstein, pleaded guilty and appeared as the government's star witness, detailing how the three schemed to pay back Fort Lee Mayor Mark Sokolich, a Democrat."

Wildstein admits to "masterminding" and carrying this out.

Prosecutors are now trying to go after as many others as they can.

Wildstein made a deal. He will testify against anyone he is told to.

How long until Wildstein is pardoned for his silence?

Can’t feel too bad for Christie. Yeah, he’s been decent for Trump but I’ll never forgive that fat RINO for helping Obama cross the finish line in 2012.

Why is this such a big deal? Who cares. Stupid political prank. Nothing compared to what the Clintons or Sandy Burgler did. BLM has been closing bridges down all over the 0place and nobody says anything.

What a coincidence this trial and verdict come out the Friday before election day. Too bad for the Rats that it means absolutely nothing to the country and most people in NJ dont really care.

If I was a juror on this case, I’d hang the jury and force a mistrial just because the prosecution wasted my ‘effing time.

“How long until Wildstein is pardoned for his silence?”

Wildstein was not silent.

He testified against several top officials after he himself pled guilty.

It sounds like he would testify against Christie if charges are brought.

The defendants in this case all tried to rope in Christie as a witness, and it didn't work.

Christie fired them as soon as the sh!t hit the fan. You can be sure he would have been run through the wringer by the Democratic establishment in New Jersey if there was even a shred of evidence linking him to this.

If there had been one email or taped phone call that demonstrated Christie was involved, he would have been charged.

Either Christie wasn’t involved or he is the smartest crook who ever lived.

Christie walked because he was the only one smart enough to not put it in writing.
