An earlier article suggested that Hillary Clinton might be elected, then preemptively pardoned by Obama to shield her from impeachment.

That would lead to interesting times. I think it would lead to massive civil disobedience at first, but the fuse could be lit at any time.

“An earlier article suggested that Hillary Clinton might be elected, then preemptively pardoned by Obama to shield her from impeachment.”

That’s not the way it would happen.

It could be that Obama resigns in January leaving Biden as president and then Biden pardons, Hillary, Bill and Obama.

The impeachment exception to the pardon power is in the text of the Constitution. Stop wasting time by reading any site claiming otherwise.

A pardon can not prevent an impeachment. Article II, Section 2, Clause 1 says the President has the power to grant "Pardons for Offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment." The Liberal Messiah can not save the Wicked Witch from the impeachment process.

The President can pardon someone to shield them from criminal prosecution, but not from impeachment. U.S. Constitution, Article II, section 2, clause 1.

Da da dada da da da dah! I think there is a less than 1% chance of civil unrest given a fair election. If either party cheats at the numbers, there will be excited people. I think there is a far greater chance of civil unrest if Obummer begins settling Muslims in greater numbers than neighborhoods, especially rural neighborhoods, can tolerate. I want at least 50% of them settled into gated communities. If that happens, then the top is off the kettle.

You, Sir, are a war monger and like to get the troops roiled a bit, I’m guessing. We deplorables are rather well mannered coming from well mannered and civilly obedient people. Mostly.

Should Trump win, there’s a theory Obama will resign, and President Biden will pardon Obama.

This will not protect her. Impeachable offenses are not pardonable. Review US constitution, article 2, section 2.

Impeach her. Then she cannot pardon herself. The subsequent Trump presidency can see to her trial and conviction.

But it’s not going to go there. Trump will be elected. She will be pardoned by Obama before he leaves office. She’ll need to be convicted on a charge not covered in Obama’s pardon. How thorough can he be?
