Bill Murray gives Indiana woman, Cubs fan World Series ticket
Posted on 11/03/2016 6:40:07 AM PDT by Scythian_Reborn
Karen Michel, a fan from Whiting, told MLB.com she was hoping that there might somehow be an extra ticket available at the Progressive Field box office. After being told the game was sold out, she spotted Murray walking by and decided to follow him.
"He turns around and says, 'Here, here's a ticket,'" Michel told MLB.com. "And he kind of shuttled me into the door. I thought it was just a ticket to get in. But it was a ticket to sit right here."
You can see her here next to Bill Murray. She got to sit in a $15,000 seat with Bill Murray and hang out with Murray, Eddie Vedder and others all night, amazing, she didn't give up, what a cool story more ...

Ya, if you look at the pic you can see Al Roker, basically, she was sitting in the who's who section and showed up without a ticket !!
That and she got to see one of the most historic games that will ever occur in MLB, she must be on cloud nine this morning.

Who shows up to a World Series game thinking that maybe there’s an unsold or unclaimed ticket at the gate?
Is that a thing?

Agreed, so many times I wish the FR had a like button, it would actually reduce traffic, no need to reply, would be an async web request (I’m a developer). Anyway, Bill Murray is a cool guy, always like him, he’s not full of himself and I always loved the line from Ghost Busters when he said “Hey, hey, nobody steps on a church in my town !!” made me well up with pride.

You can also see she’s giving Bill rabbit ears.
Classic!

Maybe Murray’s in the sequel of Groundhog Day, only this time it is in Cleveland for Game 7 of the World Series, and he’s in “random acts of kindness mode”.

Murray always seems to do random acts of kindness.

Here's what I heard on talk radio this morning. She was at the ticket booth saying surely somebody won't show, put me on some kind of list, I'll wait ... Then Bill Murray walks buy and says "Here's a ticket ..." and she thinks it's just a ticket to get in, but no, it's a $15k ticket to hang out with Murray and the stars all night, an Amazing story .. To think of all the big shots he could have given that ticket to but it hands it to some women outside basically pleading for a ticket

Does Bill Murray have a habit of walking around with sports event tickets that he gives away?
It would be interesting to hear the Paul Harvey version of this story.

LOL, I hadn't even noticed that !!! Cool

Actually yes, Bill Murray has a history of doing things like this. He’s a very nice guy in real life it turns out, of course, he’s a huge cubs fan.
