Some Republican lawmakers seem to be trying to delegitimize a Hillary Clinton presidency before its clear there will be one. They are threatening to block her Supreme Court nominees, investigate her endlessly, or even impeach her.
Perhaps its no surprise in an election in which the GOP nominee, Donald Trump, has branded his opponent Crooked Hillary, and shouts of lock her up! are a staple at his rallies. Few Republicans appear eager to suggest a new era of bipartisan deal-making with a candidate widely seen by GOP voters as untrustworthy.
But the rhetoric is striking because newly elected presidents traditionally enjoy a honeymoon period with Congress and the public.
For Clinton, the honeymoon appears to be over even before its clear she will be elected.

Nope. They are trying to “delegitimize” and depress enthusiasm for Trump’s campaign. The Never Trumpers have been doing this for a few weeks.
Block & resist, just like they’ve done the last 8 years.
Ain’t gonna be no honeymoon, Sweetie.
Hillary is being left at the altar by the voters.
I guess they just switched the names from Trump to Hillary.
Well, Cubs win!
Yeah, right.
(Eyeroll)
This is what McCain and Mark Levin have been saying...trying to demoralize Trump supporters I guess.
We’re planning how to run the nation with no Clinton’s in office.
Frankly, that’s a terrific head start.
They just had Hillary up by 14 points last week.
Cubs win Trump wins.
Cubs just won the World series yet. 5-4-3-2-.....Just counting down when Obama takes credit and gives a speech saying “me” about 150 times.
That's a beautiful sentence.
Um, Erica... Kiss me rights heah.
Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.
The consent of all decent people should be removed. Well see how much Hillary can do without the support of any productive Americans, relying on just the parasitic class and those connected elites who profit from government overreach.
I hope no one will advocate violence or will post anything that can be interpreted that way. However, if Hillary wins, the federal government will be an enemy of America.
If the worst happens, compliance with her governments demands should only be to the extent that her minions have the power to compel immediate obedience. Other than that, civil disobedience and passive resistance would be very good things. Active resistance within the law would also be a positive in every area.
There are no sensible or common sense laws, regulations, taxes, or other changes on which we can agree with or support Hillary. We have to stonewall and oppose everything new and every existing unconstitutional federal government effort. Anything proposed under Hillary or even since that terrible day, January 20, 2009, should be opposed or receive only token compliance, and then only when being actively enforced through coercion.
Whatever AP because Hillary ain’t making it to the White House. She’s toast on Tuesday night!
The Cubs win it.
Looking back ...
“Trump? Win the Presidency? You gotta be kidding. You’ve got a better chance of the Cubs winning the World Series than you have of ever seeing President Trump.
Somebody, some place , uttered words very much like that. They are about to eat those words.
It sure is.
And what’s more, many of her friends will be out of government too.
They’ll have to build a new wing on a prison soon.
Given the history of the republican Party in Congress I have to greet this with a curled lip and a "yeah, sure." I think most of the Republicans in Congress, including the new ones, will breathe a sigh of relief if Mrs Bill is the next President. All their gravy trains will keep rolling, until, of course, it comes time for the show trials. The loyal opposition that has given the rulers cover for so long has then one more service to perform for the New State.
There WILL be a honeymoon. These are, after all GOPe Republicans we are talking about.
