Leslie Wimes, the president of the Democratic African-American women's caucus, joins MSNBC's Hallie Jackson to discuss the Clinton campaign being in "panic mode" about low voter enthusiasm in the black community.
"We love President Obama," she said. "That doesn't transfer to Hillary Clinton by osmosis."
"It's over now as far as the African-American community is concerned. She had time back then to get into the community and get people out to vote. Now, you know, the numbers are the numbers. There's nothing she can do now."
She added: "What I said before is she didn't have the luxury of being Barack Obama. We are not as enthusiastic about seeing the first woman president as we were about seeing the first African-American."(continued)

Remember in 08? The media was all over the long early voting lines......helicopters over the early voting sites. Black voters in those huge long lines waiting to vote.
I forget if they had that with the 2012 election. Where is the media pics of those long black voter lines now?
Crazy White Granny isn’t exciting the fraud machine the way Obama did? Say it ain’t so!
A lack of black enthusiasm is especially important in North Carolina and Florida. Clinton would require 95% black support to win those states. Yet in the South many blacks are socially conservative, hard working and religious. Doubt they will support the inherently dishonest, shamelessly corrupt Hillary the way Obama and Bill Clinton received their support. Would wager that Hillary will get no more than 85% of the black vote in those states. If that happens they will go to Trump. Same may be true in Virginia.
All she needs is the precinct captains.
I work with a black women who, hates Trump, but is pro 2nd Amendment. And, she was pissed hugely about Loretta Lynch copping the 5th Amendment last week. Voting Stein.
The Democrats know it’s over, but are putting on a brave face. The Wicked Witch is probably constantly screaming.
The problem is, given her health issues, panicked does not mean more campaign appearances. Trump is doing three major rallies a day often in three different states. PIAPS does one rally every three days, maybe?
TV advertising only goes so far. People expect to see a candidate campaigning.
Hillary, George Soros and Black Lives Matter have started all the riots they possibly could.
What more could she have done to motivate black voters? It’s not like she has any ideas that might bring about actual prosperity or opportunities. Should she have offered Michele Obama a position in her cabinet? She just did!
To make it post related, I guess this would qualify as 'panic'!
Don’t be surprised if they don’t turn out to vote in Philly and NYC.
The Hispanics are the Democrats’ new “minority vote”. African-Americans have been thrown under the bus. Time for them to come home to our side.
I’m praying she has a full meltdown before the election. The stress has to be very tough on her. Meanwhile nothing can be taken for granted and I expect a last ditch smear attempt as their October surprise.
It’s pretty obvious at this point that blacks are looking at Hillary with a big yawn. The regulars will get out there, but not those on the margins.
If you are black or hispanic or white and have a job Trump is your friend. If you are black or hispanic or white and want a job, Trump is your friend. If you do not want a job and want a hand out the government, vote for Hillary.
It is really that simple.
