I've spent time on the TIGHAR website and like you, I believe she died as a castaway on Nikumaroro.
From the article, "TIGHAR plans to search the area [for the missing plane] with submarines next year - the 80th anniversary of Earhart's disappearance."
I think they'll be successful and the mystery will finally be over.

Yes, I have followed their work and it makes a lot of sense. I feel sorry for her and Fred Noonan. To die as a castaway on a remote island....must have been just horrible. The emotions she must have gone through and despair, not to mention the extreme heat on that island. Awful.
