Harry Reid: Comey may have violated the Hatch Act

Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid said on Sunday that FBI Director James Comey may have violated the Hatch Act, barring political activity by federal employees, through a late election season letter to Congress about the scope of the bureau's probe of Hillary Clinton’s private email service as secretary of state.

Comey’s letter on Friday to congressional committee chairs said the FBI is reviewing newly discovered emails that might be linked to Clinton's private server. The new emails were found several weeks ago, law enforcement officials told CNN Sunday, but the FBI did not disclose them until Friday. The timing raises questions about why the information was released just days before the election. […]

The Hatch Act prohibits FBI officials from using their official authority to influence an election. Reid said that by releasing this information, which he says is not conclusive or pertinent, Comey may have broken the law. Reid referenced a memo from Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates from March of this year that establishes all Justice Department employees, including Comey, are subject to the Hatch Act. …

Yep. I think Reid is either stupid or shaking in his boots scared that the investigation will lead to his crimes. Or both.

The best defense is a good offense, so he’s going on offense. Unfortunately for him, it ain’t gonna work no more.

Reid, you are toast. Instead of calling attention to yourself, you should be spending time working on your defense and alibis. Maybe lawyer up. Spend time with your loved ones now, because you might be heading to the big house, too, along with Hitlery and the rest of your corrupt gang.

Is Harry Reid and CNN really this dump. The Hatch Act does not apply to executive department employees above a certain level. The President and Vice President along with. ...”an employee appointed by the President, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, whose position is located within the United States, who determines policies to be pursued by the United States in the nationwide administration of Federal laws.” The FBI Director may well be exempt from the Hatch Act.

When Reid goes silent is when you’ll know Comey showed him exactly what danger Hillary put the country in by colluding with the Muslim Brotherhood.

The point would be to mount a good offense rather than a bad one.

Ha ha ha! Shall we examine all the things Reid’s done?

Yes please! They could start with a grand jury to look into his land deals.

Much like Reid’s, “Romney did not file any taxes”, unsubstantiated accusation, Reid, using his position in the Senate, hopes that throwing another undocumented accusation out there will be picked up by the media and they’ll run with it. The media will comply but if it doesn’t take, will pick up another Democrat lie.

If Comey had just gone public, that might be true - he told the Congress and they went public.....

Then was it a violation when there were no charges against her despite her lies and law-breaking? That sure sounded like a political decision by Comey.
