Yes, Levine conducted it very well last Saturday when I saw it. I’m very sad that his activities have been curtailed. I saw the new production of Tristan and was disappointed - maybe because I remember how Levine did it sixteen years ago, which was absolutely breathtaking.

I’m going to see Guillaume Tell this Wednesday and also at the Saturday matinee on Nov. 12th. Hope all goes well.

I will also be at the Matinee on the 12th. (Maybe we could get together for a drink afterwards for some good old fashioned Hillary bashing?) Normally I don't like to miss my Synagogue on Saturday morning, but the Guild has started a program where they discuss conducting choices in an hour and a half presentation with scores distributed before several operas. After that there was an option for s Score Desk ticket for $5 which I happily accepted. I mostly sit in the Orchestra, but I have sat all over the house (even in the second to last row of the family circle) but never at a Score Desk. I have been curious what it is like and it looks like I will find out. BTW, I did go to the opening performance of Tell. I've always liked the music ever since I acquired the Chailly/London LP set when it was issued. And I was sorry I had to wait so long to attend a performance.
