I think they know she will lose. EVERYONE from top to bottom is trying to cover their behinds, IMO, prior to a President Trump.

If they thought Trump was going to win, they would wait until after the election - unless they think they can force her out which is really too late in the game for that.
No, a compromised Clinton isn’t worth anything to them if she loses but if she wins, they can now own her for the forseeable future. I don’t think their brains could process a Trump victory.
