What’s the over/under on how many times we hear the phrase “vast right wing conspiracy” today?
Maybe covering the bases in case she does win. The political fall out of opening an investigation into a (God, I hope not) President-elect is not a winning strategy for Comey. This is the best of 2 horrid choices.
Remember how angry Comey was when Gowdy said it was no longer the FBI he once knew? Comey has enjoyed a undeserved “straight arrow” reputation. I knew then the way to get to Comey was not on the facts of the case, but exposing his lack of character.
Career agents are talking, just not publicly. The more they talk, the tighter the line is between him and the Clintons. His window is closing.
Let us not forget that it was only like a week ago that form Asst. FBI Director James Kallstrom came out blasting the investigation. I wonder if this had an impact on Comey?
With respect, define revolt. Bad job review? Nasty letter to HR? I haven’t heard of anyone quitting, disappearing. I wonder if, post Watergate, Quantico has offered any classes on what to do if your superiors are corrupt? I also doubt that very many agents are actally involved in any investigation. So for agents who need hard evidence before acting, that will be hard to come by.
This makes it seem like Comey is permitting his underlings some control over the length of the re-investigation, meaning that the implication is that (barring outside interference from an Obama pardon) the investigation will not be over by November 7. That does not sound like a setup for a 2nd round of announcements re-dropping the investigation and effectively re-blessing Hillary. Hmmm...
This means the FBI thinks Donald Trump will win and they want to mitigate the damage.

Could very well be. Rush was on about the possibility of this being another non-investigation to sideline coverage of the Wikileak dumps.
3 scenarios....
1) Comey’s been corrupt from the get-go and has great experience at hiding it well. He won’t go down without a fight.
2) He was recently compromised, ain’t that good at it yet, so he’s flailing away. He’ll could screw up and get caught, find his way and muddle through. He might also be flipped.
3) The guy is true blue, and a hero. And worthy of an Oscar. He’s pretended to sell out, and is now getting ready to drop the hammer.
Let’s pray for that last one.

Facing reality is always the right path. While it sucks that the FBI isn’t going to do anything about this it’s dumb to think they will.

Well, THEY can claim, as they have been, that the investigation is purely political, designed to defeat their candidacy, and that’s something Americans don’t like.

Just read on the NY Times site that the emails were found on computers belonging to Huma and Weiner.
