Don’t really need a million dollar home.

We live in a 5,000 sq ft ranch with finished lower level, walk out to pool. 5 1/2 acres. Bought it in an auction for about 300K. People who expanded this place with significant modifications spent 800K doing so.

I tell folks we live in a millionaire's house on a social security income. Brother-in-law is a builder and said it would take a million to reproduce what we have.

Do we need a million dollar home? No. Do we like living here? Yes!

When we bought our house we looked for exactly what we wanted so we would never have to move again but still what we could afford that wouldn’t break us. 1/3 acre, 2000 sq ft not including sunroom, pool, spa.
Now it’s way too much house for us. We have rooms we don’t use and since hubby is disabled we have a gardener, a pool guy, a housekeeper, and a handyman. We also have a family friend who is a plumber.
I’d like to buy a larger boat and just live on it. Hubby says no. We have property in Hawaii. I’d like to build on it and move. Hubby says no.
Guess we’re stuck with this big azz house. Lol
