That’s what you would have without the electoral college.
Someone on FR did a breakdown on this a few years back with maps that showed exactly what would happen if we just counted the popular vote.
It wasn’t pretty.
Remember Al Bore won the popular vote.

You’re right, it’s always the Dims that say it’s not an issue; and, they’re also the ones that fight against voters showing IDs as well as any laws for same. It would be more difficult for the dead, illegals, out of state people, etc. to vote Dim, as all of us know. They use the old canard that minorities and poor people would be disenfranchised. First, I would think most have some sort of state ID to do banking and other things that we need to show ID for; and, second, I remember hearing about a state (think it might have been Mississippi or Missouri) where voter turnout was actually higher after their voter ID law.
In the last General Election there were places like in Illinois that had over 100% voter turn out without 1 vote cast for Romney.

I disagree about not having the electoral system. I would like to look at the possibility (and any implications) of it being changed from awarding electoral votes by state to awarding the electoral votes by county or area.
As an example, the entire eastern part of WA State is red, while west of the Cascade mountains is primarily blue (Seattle metro area - large population centers). There are other states with similar breakdowns of red/blue. IIRC IL is one of them - Cook county vs other parts of the state.
I’d like a couple of dashes of Tabasco (not the extra hot one) in my Bloody Mary please ;-)

I’ll be at the Sanford rally...can’t wait. I’m also an election official so I’ll make sure my precinct follows the rules and will be vigilant. God bless America and let’s go on and vote to make America great again.
