Arizona Republican Sen. Jeff Flake told reporters that Senate Republicans should take up the nomination of Judge Merrick Garland to succeed the late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia on the U.S. Supreme Court.
Though Flake consistently supports putting Garlands nomination up for a vote, Thursday he implied Republican nominee Donald Trump was likely to lose the November election. Therefore, the Senate should confirm Garland before Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton has the opportunity to nominate a younger, more liberal

GOPe serving themselves...it’s a calling.
The list is huge, but after the election we need to settle the score no matter who wins.
Flake is worried that Hillary might not win.
Because they know Trump is getting in.
Tell you what. AZ has one of the most corrupt politics in the nation. It is a good ol boys club. Its right behind Utah where its a Mormon Gang...you know.
Well, not much chance that Trump will win, and Garland is relatively moderate while who knows what Hillary will come up with, so I reckon that Flake is right on this. I have seen it coming for quite a while, actually.
Jeff Flake is one of my senators, the other one being John McCain. It’s hard to tell who is worse, they are both despicable back-stabbing RINOS. Flake is a particularly arrogant and smug POS, especially because he’s not up for re-elction this year.
But at least McCain is saying (for now, because he’s up for re-election) that he will join with the rest of the GOP to block Hillary SCOTUS nominations in case the witch wins. I predict McCain will backtrack completely if he is re-elected.
Thats a discussion for November 9th. No need to rush now.
Thanks Arizona, for giving us two of the worst Senators ever.
Should have done your homework, he was a Cheap Labor Express stooge when he was in the House.
His last name fits him well.......
traitor...
Confirm? Without a hearing?
Ok, to be exceedingly fair, there is one thin, and I mean razor thin, way that the aptly-named Flake could be a sly fox and onto something. That would be if he was absolutely, positively certain that there were not enough votes to confirm. In that case, it would be a cagey move to dispose of the nominee before the Senate goes lame duck. We are at grave risk during this lame duck session that the makeup of America will be determined by bitter, rejected legislators and those looking for a quid pro quo as they leave their cushy positions.
Article Fivers, take note. No one is riding a horse to get to Congress. Vote them in one day, swear them in the next. And while that is not really practical, there needs to be severe restrictions on what Congress can do after election day for the remainder of their term of office.
Right! Call it before the the election even happens! God I hope he is struck down by lightning or a lump of frozen crap fallen out of a Jet liner!-)
“asshat” is too kind for this piece of filth.
It may be time to start building a gallows in DC large enough to accommodate 535 + 10 or so at a time....these traitors are skating on thin ice.
With no ability by the Republicans to filibuster Schumer could cram through as many confirmations as he wanted to in just a day.
The Republicans would scream. The lamestream media would report how the Democrats courageously prevailed in the face of bad faith attempts by the Republicans to stand in their way.
He is a Flake, after all.
