This Monday I was watching TV and saw what I thought was an astonishing commercial. It starts with the mother of a handicapped child explaining her sons condition. Then a video of the child is overlaid and shows him flailing his hands wildly. The mother explains that it's a common sign of being autistic. The video then shows Trump explaining something with hand gestures and states he has autism and shouldn't be president because of it. It closes with HRC endorsing the ad.
I was completely astonished. I'm not a huge Trump supporter but this was way over the top.
I’ve seen videos showing Trump making the same gestures mocking other people including Ted Cruz; he apparently had no idea the (print) reporter was disabled.
In the Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania, we are being bombarded with pro-Clinton and anti-Trump ads every ten minutes on nearly every radio and TV broadcast.
I have not seen or heard a single pro-Trump commercial yet.
Trump is not spending any money in this area.
I saw it. Initially, I thought that they were claiming that too, then I caught on to what they were claiming. Not a well-produced commercial if its claims aren't that clear.
I have seen the commercial, but interpreted it differently.
I don’t think the message is that Trump is autistic; I think the message they are trying to convey is that Trump mocks handicapped people. JMHO
I know it doesn’t matter now, the meme has been set, but here is an alternative explanation.
I’m a functioning autistic and I resent Hillary’s remarks.
I think their point was that Trump was making fun of a disabled person (which he was, let’s be honest)
*****************************
A damn’d lie.
Trump has said that, never having met or seen the reporter, he didn’t know he was disabled. Why not take Trump’s word for it instead of that of his detractors? Why become one of his detractors?
I guess those commercials don’t mention when Hillary staged a photo op at a Children’s hospital and had the ill children REPLACED with actors and children of her staff members because she didn’t want to be around ‘sick’ children.
I think I know the commercial you mean and the clip was of Trump imitating that reporter with disabilities. It’s meant to show that Trump is insensitive to people with special needs or some such thing. I don’t think she’s implying that Trump is autistic.
The movie “The Accountant” shows how Hillary’s attempt at insulting Trump as “autistic” could backfire badly. The primary character in this film, played by Ben Affleck, is autistic but brilliant in cleaning up corruption.
careful, FRiend....those gestures are a language unto themselves
Yes, that’s it. It went by very fast(only 10 seconds) and made no mention that she was reacting to the mocking incident. There was no audio of Trump and if you hadn’t seen the Trump video before you wouldn’t know what she was referring to.
No replay on live TV.
Yup, I’ll take a high functioning autistic over HRC.
so what if he were autistic? its a thousand times better than the treasonous alternative, HilLIARy is sold out to the enemies of America like SorosNazi and the IslamonNazi dictatorships that she (and Obama) have invading USA right now as we type
Trump needs to revive the daisy girl ad of 1964 by showing Hillary plucking the petals until the mushroom cloud appears.
When I speak of Italians talking with their hands, I'm doing so from first person experience.
disappointing advertisement
that should really be a turn-off to voters
There are a lot of high functioning autistics these days.
I know several.
And there is a positive correlation (fairly strong) between ADHD and entrepreneurship.
OMG yes. I was married to one... and they do it LOUDLY! lol
The ploy is to cultivate “mom” votes and use children as props;Very loathsome.I know the so called “mocking” looked bad but the reporter was a total A.H. if I remember correctly but the American voter has a one day attention span.
