John Kasich has 3 words of advice for Republicans torn over how to handle Donald Trump

John Kasich has a simple message for Republicans who are struggling with how to respond to the 2005 tape that leaked last week of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump boasting about using his celebrity status to grope women.

"Lead by example," he told Business Insider in a Thursday interview.

The Ohio governor and onetime 2016 presidential hopeful, who was the last Trump challenger to drop out of the GOP primary, released an extended response to the tape over the weekend. In that response, he said the tape was not "surprising to me or many others."

"Many people were angry and questioned why I would not endorse Donald Trump or attend the Republican convention," he said. "I've long had concerns with Donald Trump that go beyond his temperament."

He mentioned that the two had "substantive" policy differences on trade, Russia, and the budget, adding that Trump had not changed his "disqualifying" policy stances.

"I've also encouraged him to change his behavior for the better and offer a positive, inclusive vision for our country, but he has not," he said. "It's clear that he hasn't changed and has no interest in doing so. As a result, Donald Trump is a man I cannot and should not support."

Many Republicans had quickly condemned the leaked tape, in which Trump said he could "grab" women "by the p---y" because "when you're a star they let you do it.

We are not voting for saints, we are voting for who can best restore jobs and freedom to our government. I don’t want a saint, I want someone who can get the job done. HilLiaRy is not that person. If Kasich cannot see that he is just another idiot elite traitor

Without the tax revenues Ohio got from oil and gas fracking during his tenure, John’s budget woes would have been drastic. He loves to take credit for the job growth in Ohio, but most of it came from the energy sector. He would have to be a stumbling, bumbling idiot to have messed up that good fortune.

Wait, even a stumbling, bumbling idiot could not have messed it up because he failed to do so. It happened in spite of him not because of him.

Oh, and Hillary Clinton is a great lead to follow? Because she is the ONLY other person who can be President besides Trump. Or, perhaps, he is leading by example himself, by lying to the public about supporting whomever was the GOP nominee. Geez, even Ted Cruz is at least supporting Trump on the surface (yeah about the top micron of the surface, but at least there’s that).

I saw an interesting quote this morning elsewhere on FR, from Oscar Wilde: “All saints have a past, and all sinners have a future.” So maybe we should concentrate less on the past - of both Clinton and Trump - and stick to the future, since that is what this election is about. Which of the 2 is best for our economy? Which is the best to keep us safe from Islamic terrorism and other troubles? Which is less likely to use their position of power to enrich themselves? Which is more likely to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution AS WRITTEN? The answers to those questions is pretty self-evident, which is clearly why the Clinton campaign wants to stay focused on the past - Donald’s past, not hers.

So, Kasich, you lying sack of $hit weaselly RINO, why don’t you sit down and have a pot of STFU?

I’ve got three words for John Kasich, too.

The first one is “Go.” The third one is “Yourself.”

Many Republicans had quickly condemned the leaked tape, in which Trump said he could "grab" women "by the p---y" because "when you're a star they let you do it.

He didn't say that.

People need to read a transcript of the tape without preconceived notions about what is being said.

I derive great solace from the fact that John Kasich will never go beyond the Ohio Statehouse for the remainder of his political career.

Maybe his mailman father forgot to tell him that you have to sleep in the bed you make for yourself. John did not make his bed well.

Frankly; I don't care if Trump 'groped' the queen of England.

I will still support and vote for him.

This from the man who high-tailed it back to Mama Kasich in 2001 when news about own sexual freakiness, along with Gary Condit’s and Joe Scarborough’s, was about to be made public.

If not for 9/11, they and their sex condo would’ve been 24/7 news for weeks.

"Lead by example," he told Business Insider in a Thursday interview.

A fine example he sets - appearing with Obama to shill for TPP.

I think we need to deal with rino traitors like Kasich. If someone wants to blame somebody for Trump being we warned them about open borders again and again and again. We wrote letters visited offices of congressmen,we marched and it made it clear DO NOT DO THIS but they would not listen so we took matters in our own hand. It came down to either him or Cruz and since most of us thought that Trump would be the stronger and candidate we went with him. NEXT YOU ESTABLISHMENT FOOLS NEED TO LISTEN TO YOUR BASE. You may need the cheap labor donor class but you also need us and if you forget than you do so at your own peril. I will never support a Republican nominee who is not for enforcement.
