The Dow Jones industrial average dropped more than 150 points before holding about 115 points lower, with Goldman Sachs contributing the most losses. The index briefly broke below the 18,000 mark and hit its lowest level since July 7. The stock market crash in 2008 helped Obama win that election. Wouldn't it be ironic, if the market has a big fall in 2016 on his way out the door, helping Trump to win.

The stock market is over-valued. With the economy hardly growing (1-2%), there has been an earnings recession. Wouldn't be surprised to see the DOW / S&P500 fall 10% before the election.

I suspect this is why Trump called out Yellen by name, putting the Fed into deer-in-the-headlights mode.

I read or heard this the other day, and can't get it out of my head. There are 216 million working-age Americans, 95 million are out of the work force and yet we have 5% unemployment.

We are in a deep depression, masked by money printing. The stock market is based on the dollar, so is it not reasonable to suspect the numbers on Wall Street are inflated by that?

Won’t be a crash until Trump wins, then it will be his fault.

That is why the Fed will not let it go down.
