Kay Granger has dem and libertarian opponents in the next election but she'll probably win with 60-70% since the TX-12 district covers the conservative side of the metroplex. As this is a "safe" seat, Paul Ryan and the rest of the crony leadership no doubt expected her to join the Never Trump gang if she wants help with future campaign contribution. To get along you have to go along.

Huh. Tried her website using the address of rental property we own in her district. Still can’t contact her. I can assure Mrs. Granger that I will have my say in her district denying her re-election.
Do not disparage the value of small beginnings.
If you are any kind of student of history, then you would know that the party platform means bumpkis two hours after the convention closes. What is important are the candidates positions. I challenge anyone to say with a straight face that this years collection of candidates from newest congressman up, is a slate of solidly conservative candidates.
I will give you that they are GOP Party candidates.
Well show me the Constitutional Party’s candidates that are solidly conservative.

My congressman is proudly supporting Trump, did through the primaries, and reaffirmed it after the tape, so I can’t really punish him.

Talking about the intent of an act now gone is like showing the horse that has fled the barn and has now died in the field and is now a skeleton that even the vultures do not care about.
At any rate, the most signal reference point is simply gone. We have a Rorschach test for our jurors now.
They can deny, deny, deny on Bill’s abusive behavior, whereas that Trump tape is right there in your face. So even though Bill’s behavior is a thousand times worse, it can be shoved under the couch and ignored.
This is a kind of media-idolatry. The immediate, the flashy, captures the mind whereas any number of calmly propounded reports gets the doubt treatment.
Can Trump do something to turn this phenomenon to his advantage? Well he’s at least trying to do so.
Still, the fact that most of the people one would expect to be most offended here for actual reasons (evangelical and Roman Catholic Christians) are treating this as a nothingburger, has to be frustrating the lefties. They shouted fire in a crowded theater and the result was an orderly and diligent search for the fire and a conclusion that a cigarette is smoldering harmlessly in a wastebasket.

But still, yes, Bill and Hill have put out a lot of more colorful stuff, that doesn’t even have the mitigating factor of being in a drama show. Trump’s sound production folks are busy enough at this juncture, I bet. Trump will look like a choirboy in comparison, though the battle will be brutal.
There is a distinctly divine side to what is going on... something I personally pointed out months ago, only to be razzed with accusations like “Oh sure, that notorious sinner Donald is God’s man, tell me another joke!”
But I’d say look at how a number of other not exactly sterling souls of Scripture managed to skate, sometime even outrageously. God forgave readily, knowing what was going to transpire in the future as He had planned it.
