The Republican Crisis (Nat Review still soiling britches)
National Review ^ | 10/10/16 | The Editors

Posted on 10/10/2016 1:14:18 PM PDT by pissant

The Access Hollywood tape that broke Friday afternoon sent GOP elected officials fleeing from the Republican nominee over the weekend in a truly historic rupture. Trump’s odds of winning the presidency were already long before the airing of the tape. With a swath of the party now in open revolt, they are longer still.

We understand the calls for Trump to step aside. Almost any other Republican would have a better chance of defeating Hillary Clinton, a dreary and corrupt statist who is the Walter Mondale or Michael Dukakis of our time, yet is beating her desperately flawed opponent. But this would require Trump acting the statesman, which clearly isn’t going to happen (he has said he will “never” leave). Nor are House speaker Paul Ryan, vice-presidential nominee Mike Pence, or RNC chairman Reince Priebus going to mount the hard-ball pressure campaign that might make Trump consider the matter differently. Pence praised Trump’s debate performance last night to the hilt and Priebus has been eager all year to bend a knee to Trump. Finally, even if Trump wanted to step aside, the process of choosing a new nominee and negotiating ballot access for the party’s designee this late in the campaign would be unprecedented and perilous in the best-case scenario.

He’s on the radio here. I hear him for about five minutes, driving home from the gym, about once a week. It is literally true that when I turn the radio, 90% of the time he is saying “Donald Trump.” If he isn’t saying Trump’s name, he is talking about him. Deace has gone psychotic. Trump is everything evil in the world. Hillary, and what she will do to America and the world, isn’t even an afterthought. America had the chance to become a Presbyterian theocracy, and they rejected this glorious possibility. They must be punished. And the person who deserves the most punishment is Donald Trump.

Steve Deace makes that claim: that ONLY TRUMP will lose to Hillary—that ANY OTHER REPUBLICAN WHO WAS IN THE PRIMARIES could have beat Hillary!

In other words: If Trump had never entered the race, Hillary was guaranteed to lose.

They are trying to portray their loyalty to the NWO, Cheap Labor Express, U.N., Soros, Goldman Sachs, etc., as loyalty to the Republican Party.

My big doubt about Trump was: Does he understand that, if Hillary is defeated, she must not be allowed to remain a “respectable” member of society?

Now I know.

The Trump administration must be a time of stable-cleaning. The government alone cannot do it. The Marxists and Jihadists must be exposed and cleaned out everywhere they have a foothold.

The Trump Era should make the Marxists and Jihadists speak of the “McCarthy Era” with nostalgia.

I’ve heard this could actually give Trump that alpha male image, and attract support from black and Hispanic men. Such men, who tend to be more “macho” than the metrosexual types found on the upper west side, can identify with someone like Trump talking about girls.

Imagine them voting for Jeb Bush, who has never even heard those words, much less uttered them. :)

How many of the same republicans are on record of excoriating Bill Clinton for shoving a cigar up the vagina of a 20 year old White House intern, or exposing his genitals to Paula Jones, who was a low level subordinate of Bill, and asking her for a blow job?

Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney, etc are hypocrites and useless eunuchs.

Goldwater was a good conservative at one time, who was unable to hold out against the sexual revolution. His second wife was a muckety-muck in Planned Parenthood. He went full pro-abortion.

“It may seem odd that, after so many controversies, the Access Hollywood tape provoked such a reaction.”

It provokes a reaction only in the minds of the MSM. And they have a microphone.

It seems obvious to me that Falwell is correct; it was the Republicans who released the tape.

The democrats would have waited until two days before the election.

Buckley in 1977 joined John Wayne in supporting the Panama Canal giveaway, which Reagan had opposed.
