Affirmed in part, and remanded in part.

Hillary has ZERO ground to condemn Trump.

1) Bill, and "guilt by association".

2) Bill, and she stood by him, not because of love, but lust for power.

3) Bill, and she ran the Bimbo eruptions squad.

4) Her being captured on tape, talking about successfully defending a man over the rape of a 12-year-old-girl -- a man she believed guilty -- using the "nuts and sluts" defense.

5) The press's hypocrisy: a) defense of Bill for far worse than talking
b) Nina Burleigh and "I'd gladly give Bill a blow job for keeping abortion legal"

c) The Lanny Davis / James Carville "It's JUST about sex." 6) Hillary AND the Press's hypocrisy:

she and they are slut shaming: because Trump openly said "the women let you do it" meaning they are willing participants, not victims.

I agree that this is an attempted pivot from multiple Federal felonies any one of which would get most people put in a cell in Supermax if not executed.

I also agree that this is a last-minute "October surprise" to distract from Wikileaks, the Clinton Crime Family Foundation (at least, I think that's what Rush Limbaugh called it); Benghazi; and all the rest I also think (based on articles published on FR within the last week) that Obama and/or Hillary are *trying* to start an actual war with Russia. Given the systematic destruction of both our ésprit de corps, force structure, and readiness, this will be a disaster; and it may lead to a limited nuclear exchange or more.

To say nothing of Immigration.

But a LOT of low-info voters (particularly millennials) have never heard of the Clinton misdeeds: this will be Donald's way to finish her off in millennial minds forever, as a prudish hypocrite (even snowflakes must concede, rape is worse than joking with another guy in a locker room).

.

We have Obama decrying Populism and Hillary shrieking about sex talk in private!

My God, think about that.

I just responded to Jim Robinsons post with this reply:

I for one am not throwing in the towel because to do so is to throw in the country.

Now is the time for us to rally to Trump but we should do so as an affirmative gesture without negative backhands to potential supporters. Trumpers have got to figure a way to pivot and go on the attack but the attack should be directed at Hillary. Likewise, we on Free Republic should take aim at the real enemy and not at those who might yet pull the lever for Donald Trump. Why do we want to help the Democrats divide us?

Trump can survive this and go on to win if he can pivot and make the debate and the subsequent campaign about saving America. He need not be strident, in fact he should not be because that sounds defensive, he should be passionate but always under control. He must modulate his voice, avoid smirking, and cite facts when he tells us how he will make America great and cite facts when he points out how Hillary has broken off pieces of America and sold them ever since Bill was the attorney general in Arkansas. He must do so by recounting facts, not conclusions, let the listener to the debate draw their own conclusions because that way they will believe them. Let his arguments have a beginning, a middle and end, let the end be the only logical conclusion from the beginning and the middle.

In other words, bring some order to the debate. After the debate, his surrogates can go on a strident attack, they can flesh out any positive programs, they can replicate his message over and over. All of this is not designed to win on specific issues rather it is to elevate the debate to Trump's vision for America and to disqualify Hillary. To do that, Trump must show himself an acceptable vessel for our hopes and dreams, the only available vessel to save the country. In other words, he must look presidential and overcome this self dealt image. He dare not become defensive, he must project gravitas. He has to do that even at the cost of winning points. If he does that he can win the election.
