Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, with his campaign upended by crude remarks he made about women 11 years ago, apologized on Friday for saying "foolish things," attempted to pivot away from a widening controversy that threatened to sink his chances to win the White House.
He called the controversy a "distraction from the important issues we're facing today," returning to a campaign theme he's deployed frequently: The sexual behavior of Bill Clinton, who has been unfaithful to his wife, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
In his statement, he accused the former president of predatory behavior, while saying the former Secretary of State and Democratic nominee attacked his accusers. Barely two weeks ago, Trump threatened to bring Gennifer Flowers, the former president's ex-paramour, to the first presidential debate.

Trump is a risk taker and this is classic Trump. This exposes Hillary as the sexual predator she is along with Bill. Tens of millions of people who did not know about her past will get an education.
The sad thing about all of this is that what was said is the American culture: TV, movies, soup operas, reality shows, lyrics, video games, public schools, and universities....
Trump has to go into the debate with a full attack against hillary not bill. bill is not running, there is more than enough information on hillary. It might make the MSM mention it.
The next 30 days will be full of many skirmishes like happened yesterday. It will be bloody . If they thought Donald Trump would give up and go home they were wrong. I am not a fan but I respect him for being a fighter. I fHillary and her handlers want a war they now have it. To much is at stake to give up now. On to victory on Nov. 8,2016.
Trump should start every statement with a new apology. Then he should say that he was an entertainer at the time and he was playing a comic. with a bunch of men.
The white house has seen this kind of discourse with Clinton and Kennedy to name a few. And most people could not withstand the scrutiny of a microphone that is always on even in private and even in your past, decades past.
The campaign teaches a lot about things you should not articulate and Trump is quickly learning that politicians have no privacy.
It is amusing to watch those so devoted to Bill Clinton, become so outraged by these comments. Maybe if Trump had acted on these impulses over the past 30 years, as did Bill, these libs would love him, too.

I hate to be a downer, but CNN has been “reporting” that Trump’s apology has fallen flat with Gloria Borger and “Republican” strategist Kevin Madden saying it was “insincere.” So this story is as big as ever and the apology changes nothing.
Why didn't she sue him?
