Senator Grassley, however irksome he can be, still has a stunning mind. I have personally seen him casually rattle off details of relatively obscure subjects he couldn’t possibly have prepared for. He claims that he personally reads the text of legislation he votes on. He’s not a great speaker, but he’s the real deal.
Grassley’s machine is helping the entire Republican ticket in Iowa. The democrats erred in targeting him with this craptastic candidate.
