People tirelessly watching polls as though they were fact, when in fact they are about as useful as weather forecasts and stock market predictions.

This follows the pattern we’ve been seeing with this poll. One day Trump goes up big and then the poll tightens back until the next time that sample comes up in the rotation again. This is driven by the specific samples since they’re surveyed repeatedly. Unless something significant happens we should see this stay tight until another big boost for Trump.

I think if we went back to voting privileges going only to land owners should correct the situation. I dont mind women voting only IF they own land. That should screen out a large proportion of those that swoon for slick talkers.

Guys, this is a 7 day moving average poll. That means the current average is directly affected by the polling days that fall off, as much as the impact of the new polling on he 7th day. Look at the chart and count back 7 days. The day that rolled off of the average was one where trump had a sizable bump and Hildabeast a sizable drop. That has now fallen out of the average. So, was this the sole cause of today’s movement? No, it was a combination of that days poll falling off and last nights polling. We’ll need to wait a few days to see if the trend is negative. However, my guess is that trump had an average polling day yesterday and a really good day dropped off, leaving the modest decline today. That is how you need to review this poll, folks

Actually, this change in one day is pretty big. A 4 point margin diminished by 1.4 is a 35% change.

Don't let these 2 polls get you down. It's still a dead even race... Now... after 2 debates -1 was a disaster, the other a bad debate for Trump (even though Pence won), and Trump refusing to bombard the airwaves... There are just over 30 days left. If Trump doesn't change things in the next 2 debates, and destroy her with ads, it'll be time to panic).

Clinton took the lead in the PPD poll too. He was up 1.8 yesterday, she’s up 0.8 today. A 1 day swing of 2.6% in a 7 day tracking poll is significant. UGH.

It's clear that what I said Tue is true. It was a solid debate for Pence. It was a disaster for Trump. He let Kaine call him every name in the book, and Pence wanted to be Mr. Nice Guy, staying above the fray... I believe he took on the role ONLY if he doesn't have to get his hands dirty... That's the ROLE of VP candidate though...

I’ve done some research on the impact of TV ads in political races and can’t find anything that indicates they actually have a significant impact on the final outcome. Any impact they do have is very short term. Do you have a useful source that indicates otherwise?
