Fox Newss Sean Hannity had the highest rated cable news show in September in the key 2554 demographic, according to Nielsen data released Friday.
The top ranking marks the first time Hannity has beat fellow Fox personalities Bill O'Reilly and Megyn Kelly since he moved to 10 p.m. OReillys show airs at 8 p.m., and Kelly is on at 9 p.m.
Hannity an unapologetic supporter of Donald Trump averaged 525,000 viewers in the demographic and 2.39 million total viewers, according to Nielsen.
Trump is a frequent guest on the Hannity and O'Reilly programs. Trump has done at least one town hall show per month with Hannity in recent months.
Trump has not appeared on MSNBC since May and has only joined CNN once since June, appearing almost exclusively on Fox News and Fox Business Network.
The Kelly File and The O'Reilly Factor rounded out the top three in cable news programs.
MSNBC's Rachel Maddow also enjoyed a strong month, taking the fourth spot in the 2554 demographic. "Special Report with Bret Baier" was fifth.
In his first month since taking over for Greta Van Susteren, "On the Record with Brit Hume" jumped 12 percent in total viewers and 22 percent in the key demographic compared to September 2015.
Hume's first month also beat Van Susteren's last on the network, including by almost 20 percent in the key demographic.
CNNs top-rated program in total viewers was Anderson Cooper 360, with an audience of 1.01 million, finishing 20th overall.
The network's best in key demographic was Don Lemon's CNN Tonight, with 339,000 viewers, good for ninth place overall.
I wanted to highlight it here on FR, especially with the Twitter fight that is taking place between Sean and Megyn.
Go Sean!
Down with "The Kelly File" cable show!
This will but Megyn in a frisky mood.
Can’t stand Megyn.
Go Sean! He’s the only one I watch now.
Boy, that Mr. Trump sure has a way of changing the landscape.
What are they fighting about? Megyn seems like a constant diva at FOX. I only watch Lou Dobbs.
I will never watch Me-again, ever.
We’ve reached peak megyn, it’s all downhill for her now.
Sorry to hear the Brit Hume’s ratings were higher than Greta’s. I haven’t watched him and don’t intend to.
It’s one reason I posted this: it’s a proxy for Trump vs Clinton, and Trump is winning!
PWNED!!
Hannity isn’t the slickest, but his heart is pure. Can’t say that about the other two.
“On the Record with Brit Hume” jumped 12 percent

I don’t get this. Britt Hume is a Cheap Labor Express propagandist.
I miss Greta, she was the most fair and balanced show they had.
Yeah, for once a candidate forced a media figure to jump the shark.
Sean probably won’t be long for Foxnews. They seem to be pushing the dem agenda lately.
Last night, Megyn tweeted that Trump is going to his ‘safe space’ on Hannity’s show, where he can avoid tough questions.
Hannity tweeted a response saying that megyn the maggot is pro-Hillary.
But Megyn thinks she’s really cool and funny.
Glad to see Hume getting a bump...
I always liked him...
The guys not perfect, but he is logical, reasonable and is level headed...
Flame away...
My life does not raise or fall on who is a Trump supporter...
Hannity’s on the right path...Megyn isn’t.
O’Reilly is just a blowhard.
Kelly Megyn thinks people like her because she is sandwiched between BOR and Hannity. I normally have Fox running all day. But i have SPECIFICALLY programmed my DVR to jump to Fox Business only when she comes on.
Glad to see this. I don’t watch anything on Foz in prime time, but I’m glad to see Sean beating those two! I’d like to watch Sean but the constant over talk and interupting gets on my nerves.
