Farmville, VA - On my way into Longwood University for Tuesday night's one and only vice presidential debate, I spotted a protester wearing an anti-Tim Kaine shirt targeting the Virginia senator's abortion record. A Washington Times reporter also found Catholic protesters who traveled several miles to tell Kaine he's giving their faith a bad name.
He says hes a devout Catholic, but hes not. He is 100 percent pro-abortion, she said. The lie that he perpetuates that Im personally against it. That is a lie because if you are against it you dont vote for it 100 percent of the time.
Kaine, who identifies as Catholic, has frustrated many voters by recently flip flopping on the Hyde Amendment. The law, which just turned 40, prohibits taxpayer funds from going toward abortion. Kaine had been in favor of the amendment for years and says he's "personally opposed" to abortion, yet after becoming Hillary Clinton's running mate, he seemed to fall more in line with her pro-abortion agenda.
Thanks to Kaine's new extreme position, Wall Street Journal's William McGurn is now referring to the Democrat as "Planned Parenthood's Tim Kaine."...

Kaine attempted to filter abortion as an issue where "why can't we trust women?"
For a LOT of moms of pre-natal babies, it's actually not something they even feel they have a choice over...given that if they a minor, their parent may be coercing/forcing them to have one. Same thing with young women...a partner is often coercing/forcing them to have one.
So can we "trust"...
...men who won't be "responsible" for their baby-making actions? (No)
...a man who may be trying to cover up incest/abuse upon a minor? (No)
And that's sad.
Because I haven't seen the Roman Catholic church or Roman Catholics rise up in provocation that a candidate representing himself as "Catholic" (Kaine) was so vehemently advocating abortion on national TV last night...
When Pence brought up the abortion and pro-life issue you could see Kaine twisting in an uncomfortable gust on that one. His facial expressions said it all. Same thing when Pence brought up the Clinton Foundation-— unease by Kainiac.
My wife went to an event in Hanceville Alabama on Sunday where the priest told all assembled that they HAD to vote, and whatever reservations they had about one candidates bluster and vulgarity, the other candidate would destroy religious freedom and pack the court with bad justices. The bishop of Birmingham was in attendance.
I know that is but one story, but there are others, but you are unlikely to hear them from the MSM. There are some excellent Bishops, and some who have issues.
It's seemingly: Ho-hum. Another Catholic pro-abortion advocate who's on a national soapbox promoting abortion? Oh.
Kill the baby at will is one of the basic tenets of the Democrat platform. I wonder how many Democrat Catholics confess to having voted RAT?
As soon as any church gets to be about itself, it becomes weak.
A clear hint about the style-vs-substance question that hangs over Donald.
To put this into stark perspective: I doubt that too many Hebrews complained about Samson winning battles for them “with the jawbone of a donkey.”
That might be even more amusing a scene than we might think, if the jawbone of the donkey had been prepared in the manner of the musical instrument — they let ants eat away the flesh and dry it, and the result is an amusing rattle of the teeth in the jawbone. Google up “Vibra Slap” for a modern equivalent.
ITself?
What? The church is simply some impersonal institution?
(That's NOT the Church of the New Testament!)
The true underlying Greek NT term for "church" (ecclesia, also spelled ekklesia) "called-out ONES"...meaning the true church is personal flesh & blood -- not brick & mortar, NOT an institution; an organism, not an organization.
I grew up in a Democrat Catholic blue collar town.
My entire life I’ve been watching allegedly “Catholic” Democrat politicians who never met an abortion they would not vote for.
They routinely show up at parish festivals and dinners, and are feted like royalty. The Church’s hypocrisy on this issue truly sickens me.
Kaine was recently publicly rebuked by his bishop, you might have missed it.
Until now, there has existed a strange silence on the subject of her absolute insistence on promoting the "destroying" of human life in the womb.
On the underlying question moral question discussed here, nothing addresses it better than the simple logic of this quotation from Mother Teresa, who, at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, DC on February 3, 1994, as cited above, stated: "And if we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another?"
Mother Teresa's declaration may be the most powerful statement in 2016 from which to begin discussions of where a candidate stands on all the questions of life and liberty.
The sole reason these rights were deemed unalienable is that both are derived from the Creator--not from the mother or father, and not from government or judicial decision. What is "granted" by human decision also can, by implication, be withheld.
"The God who gave us life, gave us liberty at the same time: the hand of force may destroy, but cannot disjoin them (life and liberty)," said Thomas Jefferson.
"The world is different now. . . and yet the same revolutionary beliefs for which our forefathers fought are still at issue around the globe--the belief that the rights of man come not from the generosity of the state but from the hand of God." - John F. Kennedy, Inaugural Address
That understanding underlies every other consideration embodied in our Declaration of Independence and every protection of our Constitution. It is the very basis of our rights to life and liberty, of laws to protect them, and it distinguishes ours from other forms of government.
When we fail to acknowledge that foundation of our liberty, then we risk liberty itself for future generations, for where does the right to choose who lives and who does not really end?
That is why the question is of vital importance in each election. Already, we have deprived millions of their Creator-endowed rights to life and liberty, and our nation must be weaker for their loss. We need leaders who understand the implications and potential consequences of departing from our founding principles.
In recent decades, technological advances have enabled us to observe the characteristics and actions of God's tiniest creations in the womb. Unlike previous generations who could not see, we have no excuse for imagining that these are mere blobs of tissue labeled "fetuses." In their early weeks, we now can see that they are living babies who will continue on to possess life and liberty if we do not "destroy" both. Indeed, they are simply smaller versions of ourselves.
Questions on the economy, taxes, threats from terrorists, health care--all are considerations at this election time. One, however, may be basic to all others. Who will best protect the underlying premise of our Constitution--and the lives and liberties of millions yet unborn?
Promises are illusive and cheap. One fact is indisputable, however: Hillary Clinton is committed to the Far Left's agenda on this matter, and that agenda is not compatible with our Constitution's premise.
Kaine has a schizophrenic anti-death penalty stance while promoting the murder of innocent babies at will. He is no Christian.
Kaine and Pence clash over abortion in vice presidential debate (Today's Catholic Herald)
I read it & concluded "This is how a secular media outlet" might try to "straightforwardly" quote Kaine & then cite Kaine's digs vs. Trump.
This is NOT what I would call a "Christian" dissection of last night's debate in ANY way, shape or form.
This is an excellent sample/example that reinforces how today's American cultural Catholicism is in a state of apostasy!!!
This is not just about the right to chose it is also forcing others to pay for those murders and that is what dems stand for. We all get covered in that sin thanks to evil dems and we do not get the right to chose!!!!
Kaine’s “it’s the law” argument is the same one the Nazi’s used in Nuremberg.
The nation is pretty evenly divided on the issue. If you believe abortion is murder, why would you run on a platform to keep abortion legal, and even force those against it to pay for it?
Being pro-life is not a private religious ritual like claiming you believe in baptism, for example. But Kaine and Hillary pretend that abortion is compatible with Christian faith.
At least that is the lie they tell publicly. In practice, it is more like a sacrament of their religion. And that religion is not Christianity.
I was waiting for Gov. Pense to point that out.
Kaine is a Demokratholik like Nancy Pelosi.
What an insane narrative.
How would it work in another context?
“I’m against shoplifting but I support your right to do it.”
“I’m against child molestation but I support your right to do it.”
“I’m against wife beating but I support your right to do it.”
It’s nuts.
