Pundits, increasingly, are saying that both major party candidates are targeting college-educated white women, but Hillary is ahead in that demographic. Some conservative elites are asking how any intelligent person can vote for Trump. I see those responses as emotional, rather than rational, logical decisions. Im a white woman with a Ph.D. and Im voting for Trump because of my experience in D.C., my training in logic, and my appreciation for those who can get the job done.
When I first came to D.C. more than 25 years ago, I was moving from a successful academic career into a completely different, political one. Admittedly, my learning curve was steep, but it didnt take long to see through the bluster to realize that some of the most intimidating, articulate people pontificating at meetings and acting so superior and elitist as colleagues were great on paper, but not very productive or accomplished in reality. Some of the so-called experts spouting impressive data and quoting relevant research sounded good and shut down any dissent, but often, I discovered with a bit of research, they were off the mark and sometimes just plain wrong. They, as the saying goes, are Often wrong, but never in doubt.

Many of us here have degrees and are well-read. Probably more than those at Daily Kos, Democratic Underground, MoveOn and similar places.
I’m a well read woman with two post graduate degrees—an Master of Science in psychology and a Juris Doctorate in law. And I’m voting for Trump.
What is an unearned doctorate?
Excellent!
I think many people of a range of education levels and job/work situations are indeed voting for Trump,
It’s just the MSM, in Hillary’s pocket, that is trying to discourage Trump voters by claiming that really smart and educated people are supporting Hillary.
Don’t fall for it. Get out and vote for Trump and together “Let’s make America great again”
I’ve got a doctorate degree. I am on the Trump train. I saw him speak in Atlanta (Gwinnett County) in October 2015. At the time, I found him to be hilarious. Since then, his speeches have gotten so much better. And, my support for him has only grown stronger. Trump has the most loyal followers I have ever seen. MAGA!
I agree. I am a white woman with two Masters degrees. But it’s good this woman is speaking out. Hillary has tried to make the narrative out to be that “only stupid people are voting Trump”, which to her means “didn’t go to college”. Which completely ignores the fact that education does not equal intelligence AND that the working/middle class person without a college degree has traditionally voted for the democrat, but today’s democrats have decimated the jobs that working/middle class, skilled workers use to enjoy and make a decent living with.

What degree does Bill Gates have?
You’ll get nothing, and like it. :)
The same one Steve Jobs had!
Honorary degrees.
White Christian man, earned doctorate (Harvard!), well-read—voting for Donald Trump, who was my FIRST choice in the primaries!!!!
Not only do I have to put up with “how can an educated, intelligent person vote for Trump”, but in some cases “how can a good Christian vote for Trump”. I think that both points of view are based on false premises.
The “”intelligentsia” and the sources they use to inform themselves (e.g., the once-great, but now worthless New York Times) are simply not used to anyone like Donald Trump. Their reaction to him are a lot like the reaction of the intelligentsia to Ronald Reagan in 1980, and for pretty much the same reason.
One o’ dem honorary ones?
Honorary. Bestowed by some institution because of some other success of note; real or imagined.
That’s a how I intend to get my pHd.
Yep. People who have an honorary doctorate typically do not use the prefix “Dr.” One of those goofballs on Glen Beck’s show got called out for this by viewers.
I have my J.D. and that’s why I’m voting for Trump. I’ve practiced criminal law since 1984 as prosecutor, defense counsel and sometimes as judge. After more than 30 years experience, I know a criminal when I see one and Hillary Clinton is a criminal. There is no way a criminal belongs in the White House. Period.
So, what is the fraction of the population that is “exceptional people?” Not many. All of them can vote for Trump. And a trivial effort by double voters will wipe out the pro-Trump sentiment.
