Friends of mine went to Kings Island north of Cincinnati several years ago and after paying their admission discovered they’d gone on Gay Pride day. They could only stand an hour of it and left.
We took the boys to Disneyworld for spring break when they were seven and three years old. Disneyworld on spring break is like the infield of the continuous running of the Indianapolis 500 with no beer and a lot of kids. Well, not really. I like going to the Indy 500. Disney; not so much. We thought it was a rip off.

I did a few parades at Disney World in the '80s. We were told there would be absolutely NO photography in the backstage area, and NO photographing performers out of costume.
I never had a steady Disney gig, or cruise ship gig, but I've heard plenty of horror stories from other musicians about both.

I don’t know why people freak at NM state income tax. It is like 2% and there are so many deductions and the like it comes out to a ridiculous amount. I think mine was $160 last year.
In Florida my property taxes on a 1,200 SF house were $6000 a year. Here on a 3,000 SF house they are $3500 a year.
I’ll pay a little income tax...

Roger that. Our gig was for an NCAA/Cingular One/ABC Sports Football event/awards show so we weren’t hired by Disney but the event was at Disney back lot at one of the sound stages. I was amazed at how quickly the riggers turned it from a banquet room set up back to an empty sound stage after the gig. We were trapped due to the fireworks show and safety walk down afterwards. Probably a half an hour to 45 minutes-——BOOM! All done. We had brought our PA stuff and when we unloaded it they said no need, they would take care of the sound. They did a nice job. Just looked at the only pic that was taken and it was in 2004.

When I lived in Florida, our family did the same with visitors. Disney World makes you pay a high price for that pain in the butt they give you.

Not a lot of fun in the summer months. You know, February to November

I’m not saying they need to update some of the rides, but they should rename “Tomorrowland” to “Yesterdayland.”

Not as of 2 weeks ago.
We just spent 11 days at the Poly in Disney World. Terrific trip, terrific view, we were treated as King and Queen.
On Tuesday last, we went to a Disney Vacation Club event in the Animal Kingdom. There was only folks that were members of the club there. It was a blast as the folks weren’t just there for it to be an amusement park, but, as a Disney Park. Some folks get it, some don’t. That night EVERYONE Got it.

I have a feeling I won’t be seeing you on the Seven Dwarfs Mine Car ride. ;-)

After Iger's decision to lay off several IT workers and forcing them to train their overseas replacements for free Democrat voters cheap labor, I'm not going to Disney World, ever (or at least until they redeem themselves of that mistake by actually hiring in-country legalized workers). I so can't wait until 2018 when he's kicked out. Before then, I'd at least be willing to go on any week but the first week(end) of June (for obvious reasons, I can't go that week(end) because of the Gay Days thing). Shame, really, was really hoping to meet the triplets from Disney's Beauty and the Beast, not to mention Ariel. And to all those saying that Disney doesn't have any role in the Gay Days thing, Florida Family Association would beg to differ there: http://floridafamily.org/full_article.php?article_no=37 I'm also sickened by their removal of The Magic of Walt Disney Animation a year ago, especially considering I'll NEVER be able to experience that site because of it. Destroyed a historical element to Disney, one of the few things reminding everyone that Disney used to be, first and foremost, a 2D traditional animation studio, and for what? A Star Wars-themed area that would have been used at Space Mountain? Iger needs to leave Disney soon if not now! I don't care what they say, he's as bad as Eisner if not even worse.
