The hundreds of instances of “....at the Secretary’s discretion....” in that legislation are the debt chickens coming home to roost.

And this genius claimed he read the bill and touted the savings, access to care...

Rep. Tim Walz, D-Minn., “They just didn’t understand how we could save money on this by adding more people to the system, how it was going to impact them in terms of their premiums and their access to care.”

That 8% rule is a great thing. More and more people will be able to go health insurance free without being required to pay the penalty.

But there are too many healthy people like my wife and I that simply cancelled all health insurance. And because we’re old (62), the rates are so high that the 8% rule kicks in. We don’t have to pay the penalty. :-)

We’ve replaced our health insurance with prayer and a healthy life style. We leave it up to the Lord. Frankly, we’ve been doing it so long now that it feels like it would demonstrate a lack of faith to get health care insurance.

The Lord provides.

obamacare is working exactly as its designers and en-actors envisioned it would. The only ones fooled were the sheep.

I don’t think the designers were concerned whether it would work. They were only interested in obtaining government control of health care.

It was designed to fail. And when it failed, it would collapse what remained of the old system. Then a single payer system by them [them being the Government] with them being in charge. Then they will be in complete control. They will control the personnel, Doctors and medical staff at every facility. Salaries of the Doctors and medical staff. The facilities, how many staff at each facilities. What are their salaries, what amount to charge for each procedure and in the case of hospitals the maximum time a patient is allowed to recover from each procedure performed. It short, a Government Bureaucrat be in charge and control of everything related to the health care field including bathroom break times and the number of visits to. And the sheep? From their point of view, the sheep can go to hell. All this was mentioned across the Fruited Plains while obamacare was being passed in Congress. To no avail. The media kept a clamped down lid on it and the only face one saw on t.v. was some idiot or bimbo who was estasactic because the insurance company was going to have to pay for their condoms, female sanitary products, and tooth brushes and it would not cost them anything.

Big collateral damage is more like it. Try adding in Tricare Life which is Ret. Military over 65, it has DOD MANDATES along with Medicare MANDATES. Both are set fees, test, drugs, docs, hospital stays. Many test were moved from once a year to every 2 yrs, some you need approval now. Some are not covered. More docs are turning away new Medicare patients, some say they don’t take Tricare Life. That is BS if they take Medicare Tricare Life is mandatory as it is the secondary to Medicare and Medicare files it even if the doc doesn’t. If they bill you ignore it and tell them to file Tricare Life.

you should just be BILLED for it and it should be an outstanding debt which can be treated like any other uncollected debt until you pay the thing. Why was this so hard?

Two words: illegal immigrants
