How is that supposed to work?
It was never designed to work. It was designed to fail.
“We have to pass the package to find out what’s in it”- Nancy Pelosi
Hillarycare. Her lawn jockey Barry’s claim to fame is riding her Trojan horse, Hillarycare, to the finish line.
Obamacare (”Affordable Care Act”) was all about making the people pay more for their healthcare to keep the big hospital groups in business.
Mitt Romney (who did his own version of ‘healthcare’ reform as Gov. of Mass.) said healthcare needed to be reformed because of all the ‘freeloaders’ showing up at the hospitals.
Obamacare was just another bailout.
And I hope Donald Trump repeats what I just wrote.
Watching this closely. My mom is Blue Cross/Blue Shield supplemental. It’s over three thousand a year.
THat doesn’t help the poor people in MN who have to buy insurance thru Obamacare and will be stuck with these outrageous premiums.
Whatever......
It was designed to make the politicians rich. We are near the end of the Republic and at this point if you look at history politicians are only out to make a fast buck. Politics nowadays only attracts con artists.
Do I have to mention the poster child of using public office for personal gain, Mrs. Hillary Clinton.
This really isn’t about Medicare, but there is some collateral damage there as well.
I feel very sorry for folks as they were mostly too poor to buy health insurance, then forced to by law, and now must pay even more, or pay the “poor tax” and be penalized for not having it. . . what a nasty law.
“all the freeloaders showing up at the hospitals.”
true about “freeloaders,” but in my opinion (and I showed up at an ER without insurance more than once)
you should just be BILLED for it and it should be an outstanding debt which can be treated like any other uncollected debt until you pay the thing.
Why was this so hard?
Poor people are not penalized for not purchasing a policy if the premium would be greater than eight percent of income. The penalty/tax is waived. This all assumes they don’t qualify for Expanded Medicaid or full subsidy.
Powerful special interests needed a bailout like the bankers in 2008 (TARP) and the pharma people in 2003 (Medicare Part D).
I’ve come to realize that the Iran nuclear deal is a bailout for the defense contractors.
Rush Limbaugh mentioned on air that the GOP Corker Bill (enabling the Iran Deal) was passed to lift sanctions and help companies like Boeing in the defense industry do business in spare parts with Iran.
An Iran that is building up its military strength with nuclear missiles in its future will create fear among the Gulf Arabs only increasing their appetite for defense products from the defense contractors.
Israel and the US are working together with billions of dollars invested in developing anti ballistic missile systems and being pocketed by defense contractors in both countries.
We have a Corporatist system with big business, big government and big banks in cahoots with each other.
you should just be BILLED for it and it should be an outstanding debt which can be treated like any other uncollected debt until you pay the thing.
Why was this so hard?>>>. i don’t think that is a moral approach. in the old days Hospitals and other necessary services had charities pay for the ones that couldn’t pay. government essentially outlawed charities
There is no charity out there that can pay for the uninsured, the cost is too high. Not only that, it is quite naive to think that people will pay their medical bills. Go walk into an ER at 11 PM. The people there are mostly illegal, drug addicts, trash. They are not going to pay their bills.
Well yes if you got a bill you couldn’t pay you could ask for charitable help or make payments, etc.
Well my son paid the penalty last year. He made maybe $20,000, did not have health ins, got fined like $400.
I sure am glad the Affordable Healthcare Act is affordable. /s
FUBO!
