Based on this coming Monday’s forecast, I will pull both boats. I still have vivid memories about Frances and Gene, here in Ft. Pierce.
Hurricanes are the only negative attribute of living in South Florida. I can deal with the heat.

As long as I live, hurricane season '04 x4 will likely rate at the top of worst summers ever. The house was boarded up so often, it looked like a crack house until I painted the plywood. We got the kevlar hurricane screens after that year. Easier to put up in a pinch, and they allow filtered light into the house.
Two storms making landfall three miles apart in Stuart that season--where my elderly mother lives--go figure! I remember topping off the gas tank a couple of times crossing the state, as I knew there would be no gasoline available near Martin Co.

It's not your first rodeo, but I wish you well.
Regards to weather, up north we are indoors for a few months when it's too cold outside. The same idea in the south - locals just stay indoors when it's just too hot outside few a few months. I'd take the heat over the cold any day.

I *LOVE* FL but at some times of the year, getting bit up by those nasty little bugs is more than I can handle.
