I dont know if dispatcher is the right word. It’s the word I use because overnight manager is even more enigmatic :)
My experience in transportation is evident in my novel, although that is not the bulk of the story.
I was a dispatcher too a few years ago - a train dispatcher. I sat in front of a console of ten flat-panel monitors and from there controlled all the train traffic in a major American city. I worked all shifts, but the night shift was always the quietest. A job that would eat you alive during the day was a cake walk at night.
