FCC COMISSIONER ON INTERNET OVERSIGHT SWITCH "IF YOU CHERISH FREE EXPRESSION," "YOU SHOULD BE WORRIED" THIS IS "IRREVERSIBLE"
HANNITY RADIO INTERVIEW ON WEBPAGE
On Wednesdays Sean Hannity Show, FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai (R) stated that the plan to essentially give up the US oversight role of the Internet to ICANN is something that should worry anyone who cherishes free expression, and free speech rights generally, and could potentially cede oversight of the Internet to foreign governments who might not share our values. He further stated that such a move is irreversible.
Pai said, This proposal is to essentially give up the US oversight role that its had for the last 20 years, basically for the entire commercial lifespan of the Internet to a company called ICANN, which is an international organization, which includes a number of foreign countries. And, its an unprecedented move, and one that, as Mr. DeMint pointed out, is irreversible. Once we give up this oversight role, we cant get it back.
He added that Internet oversight is a case of, if it aint broke, dont fix it. Pai further stated, [I]f you cherish free expression, and free speech rights generally, you should be worried, I think, when theres this oversight roles going to be ceded to potentially, foreign governments who might not share our values.

Second ever nationwide Emergency Alert System test occurred this afternoon.
Storms brewing...
Wow did not heare about this.
Oh, I’m not being complacent. I’m doing as much as I can!
The unknown unknowns...
Oh was not referring to you—just some comments I have had off and online...
I am going to call—even if no more votes...and if this goes thru, I will not vote for my Congressman and Senator. They better be worried about losing Senate at least...
I will vote for Trump and that is it.
“And, its an unprecedented move, and one that, as Mr. DeMint pointed out, is irreversible.”
Seriously, how is it “irreversible?” If the US under Trump decide to reverse King Buckwheat’s illegal order, who will stop us? And don’t say the UN. The UN has mastered two military maneuvers: Retreat and surrender.
But he twitters.
Bad news.
They have been doing a lot of troubling things lately...
Second it .
So instead of putting a veto proof coalition together to put an end to this Soros inspired giveaway of the internet, the House and Senate spent time overturning their first veto on the Saudi issue. Then within 4 hours are trying to modify the Saudi legislation they just passed because it will open a Pandora’s box.
The Saudi issue could have easily been dealt with after the 1st of October giving more time to work on the internet issue. This has been coming for two years, and now with 2 days to go, no plan. This just tells me the fix is in. I’m ready for the whole damn government to implode.
Well, it is impossible to contact Ryan’s office and talk to a human—maybe happens in in Wisconsin...
I will be calling Duffy’s office for clarification on this vote today...

I will also call Cruz offices...see what they say...Not sure I can call McConnell’s office without major cursing...
We’re going to be back to ham radios. Better brush up on my Morse Code.
That is what the UN does best indeed, not only retreat and surrender but is such a toothless paper tiger.
Plus the rest of the world is waiting for the next political strongman, Mr. Trump to get elected.
And, once again, whether or not we are successful, we HAVE to start putting together some kind of backup so that this kind of thing either A: won’t happen again, or B: won’t be nearly as bad.
I am less confident of a backup...but I am not an intranet fiber optics expert
Nor am I, but there are people smarter than me out there who can probably figure something out.
Either that or we’re going to have to get a legion of white hat hackers.
