You get what you reward, and Holt was rewarded by his peers by grand declarations of neutrality just as Lauer was punished by screams of outrage. The country saw what really happened. And in the past the media have gotten away with it, but this time around they’re in play themselves, and the voting public doesn’t like them.

“What matters is whether Trump has learned his lesson and does some debate prep next time....”

-—I agree! I posted a thread over the weekend “Unconventional Debate Prep” and stated that my biggest worry was Trump wasn’t preparing for that debate and it could cost him. And I was called every name possible LOL

So, like you, I hope Trump has learned and will do some prep work for next debate. I think he did enough Monday to not lose ground but he didn’t do enough to put election away like I was hoping he would do.

No, I think Bray is right.

People who wind up voting for Trump want him because he’ll clean up the sewage and rotting garbage that is stinking up DC.

People who wind up voting for Clinton want her because they like the way it smells in DC, and she will keep it stinky the way they like it.

Two completely different audiences.

The press and TV land are just as stinky as DC, and they do the debates, so yes, Trump is going to tunnel through the debates (by way of sewer pipes), and if he wins, his prize is he gets to go live in the sewer that is Washington DC.

My point is it’s a stinky, stinky mess we’re asking Trump to clean up - we’re asking him to wade into the sewer that is Washington DC, suit up in his plumber overalls, plug his nose, and start fixing things.

It’s unrealistic to expect Trump would get a squeaky clean, fair, impartial hearing in these corrupt stinky debates or anywhere along the line in this election process.

Think of it this way: his clean up job has already started - the debates and the whole election process are simply extensions of the reality we face: the government is a corrupt cesspool, and Trump’s opponents, including the press, like it this way.

He has to go into the stink to do his job - that’s the whole point.

So, debate preparation, memorization of zingers and comebacks, looking presidential, demonstrating skill and experience in politics, getting the press to credit him with a debate victory - these are not things that appeal to the voters Trump is appealing to. These are part of the cesspool.

Clinton can have her debate prep, zingers, political polish and she can win the debates according to the press and Hollywood.

Trump needs to be Trump and keep saying things that are true and need to be said. There are plenty of Americans who have been waiting for someone like that for a long time and they don’t care about spit and polish.

Trump did exactly and precisely what he needed to do.
He was restrained, defended his integrity, and made hundreds of valid points, every one of which was ignored by the mod.

He gave the lie to the demo attack machine depicting him as wildly out of control.
He took blow after blow all the while standing up for himself and never losing his cool.
He proved himself the better candidate with his heart and his clearly unrehearsed performance.

Enumerated, I understand your point. But.. basically it is that Trump appeals to conservatives and Hillary appeals to liberals. Unfortunately, getting the conservative vote may not be enough to win the election. He has to woo over some non-decided, some non-voters and yes, even some libs, and the way to do it is by making them think about the dangers of voting for such a socialist candidate as hillary. He needs to CONVINCE some people to rethink their values. This is going to take work. Overcoming the left’s voter fraud is another matter!

He did not win the debate and came off totally unprepared but he did win the voters because Hillary is so hated

The only thing that counts in the end is votes at the ballot box. Go Donald....

P.S. Bray has won his share of elections in hostile territory so he knows of what he speaks..

They double or triple teamed Trump... but we know the nature of liberal elties... they cheat to win.

And voter fraud? The ‘dead’ vote will indicate the extent of the cheating.

Um, there was no debate. What you are calling a debate was an ambush, with Lester the lip getting data feeds via his earpiece e and attacking illary’s opponent so she did not have to be exposed. Evil won the event, but it was definitely not a debate.

TRUMP needs to clean-up the breathing noise on the microphone feed.

I think Trump relates to the working class and his demeanor in the debate was to take the unfair hits and put a check on an temptation to over react and let his supporters see him as statesman-like. He took a page out of Reagan.

I’m calling this his “rope-a-dope” strategy. Let the opponents (MSM, Hitlary, etc.) wear themselves out thinking they have him on the ropes. They’re helping him prove he can do what they said he couldn’t do - take a punch.

Why would you think that Trump went into the debate unprepared for it?

Is there anything that he has done in since he entered the race that shows he is “unprepared” for anything in his life, including his business life?

Giuliani coached him, as did Laura Ingraham, among others.

Don’t fall for Dem misdirection.

TRUMP needs to clean-up the breathing noise on the microphone feed.

Trump’s mic (the one on the podium, not the lapel mic going to broadcast to maintain as constant a distance to his mouth as possible) was ringing in the 500Hz range over the room PA. You cannot believe how rookie a mistake this is. This is a single knob-turn fix and feedback in this environment is not only absolutely haram, but should not have been heard over the broadcast feed. This is no accident.

Many people are commenting on Trump’s sniffles or inhales. Also a blatant act of sabotage. EVERY on-site broadcast audio engineering package includes a Rane Dynamic Controller....a very expensive piece of equipment that adjusts the mic volume as the sound level changes. You can set it to turn up the mic when the subject is talking to get clear, solid vocals then instantly (and in a controlled manner) turn the volume back down as their voice trails off (to the millisecond) to make sure you don’t hear breathing, lip smacking, sighing, sipping water, shuffling things about on the podium, etc. Those inhales and sniffles were intentionally not fixed. Notice you did not hear anything from her mic when she wasn’t talking. Polished and perfect.

No, I don’t think it’s the conservatives vs the liberals at this point - here’s why:

When things are mediocre, you can argue big government vs. small government, free market vs. income equality, competition vs. affirmative action, security vs liberty, etc. and because things are mediocre, the pros and cons balance out, you can make a case either way -conservative vs. liberal.

I’ve always argue on behalf of conservatism, because according to my understanding of human nature and the laws of physics and supply and demand, etc. that liberalism would eventually take us over a cliff when “we run out of other people’s money” as Margaret Thatcher said. But when things are mediocre the cliff is still a long way off, and therefore theoretical, - it’s only my opinion, shared only by other conservatives, as you pointed out.

But when things deteriorate to where we are; 22 trillion debt, massive joblessness and job creators going overseas, or “going Galt”, our iwn government importing people who want to kill us, there comes a point where we can actually see the edge of the cliff we are heading over. Turn around! We no longer need to listen to philosophers debate about whether or not there is a cliff, which direction it is, and pick a ‘side’ to believe in, - we can all SEE it there right in front of us.

It’s simple which way to go now, we don’t need a philosophy professor or economist to explain anything - we don’t need to subscribe to a view, such as conservatism or liberalism.

Those terms lose their relevance when we are this close to the edge. The message becomes simple: turn around, and turn around quickly.

This is Trump’s message and he’s absolutely spot on. The democrats have nothing to argue with - so they’ll lose “big league”. There are still plenty of stupid people - don’t get me wrong. She’ll still get votes - but I think Trump will get a huge “crossover” of voters who still describe themselves as liberal, still think FDR or JFK or even WJC was the best Oresident ever... But they see the cliff now, so they’ll vote for Trump.

This is why you don’t hear Trump use words like ‘conservative’ or ‘liberal’ very often. The conservatives don’t like it, because they crave vindication after all these years - and I think they deserve it and they’ll get it eventually.

But right now that’s not the right message - “conservatives were right all along” that would only appeal to conservative thinkers (like you and me).

The right message right now is “we are about to go over a cliff, turn around - and do it now!” This message will appeal to all common sense people however they described themselves in the past.

Go Trump!
Keep doing whatever you are doing!
I think it’s working!

Did the DNC and James Carville provide Holt’s bosses with rafts of questions? Cause his questions and ‘follow ups’ sure as hell came from the Dem Playbook...
