Jewish peer resigns from Labour party after Corbyn re-elected Senior Jewish member 'divorces' Labour, claiming Corbyn 'lukewarm' on anti-Semitism. JTA - Jeremy Corbyn has been re-elected head of the British Labour party, leading to the resignation of a Jewish peer from the party.

The results were announced at the start of the party conference on Saturday. Corbyn defeated challenger Owen Wilson, 313,209 votes to 193,229 votes.

Corbyn has faced allegations that his pro-Palestinian politics and endorsement of radical anti-Semites has encouraged hate speech against Jews. He been accused of doing too little to curb rampant anti-Semitism among party members and lawmakers, some of whom have been suspended for making racist and anti-Semitic statements in public or on social media.

Lord Parry Mitchell announced his resignation following the results. He had told the London-based Jewish Chronicle in August that he would no longer represent the party if Corbyn remained its leader.

Lord Mitchell, who became a peer in 2000, called Labour a “lost cause,” and accused Corbyn of being “lukewarm” about tackling anti-Semitism. He also said that Corbyn was surrounded by people with “violent anti-Israel views.”

He should have resigned from the party years ago. Corbyn is an anti-Semite, not just soft on it.

No Jewish person should belong to any “labor”, “progressive” “democratic” “communist” or “socialist” party.

They all translate to “WE ARE ANTI SEMITIC”

History has shown this again and again and again.

When Netanyahou says come home, it’s a hard thing to do because the country you are at IS your home!!

Biden was WRONG though that only Israel was REALLY safe for Jews.

A LOT of Americans would go to bat for American Jews if things got ugly.

I know I would. My Jewish friends are great guys and gals and I dont turn my back on friends for anybody or anything.

That’s very admirable. But the bottom line is that back then, many Poles, Ukranians, Italians, Netherlanders, French, etc., secretly hid Jews from the Nazis, but did not have much of an impact on that big number.

But Biden is wrong. Israel is not really safe for Jews, either, not in the time of the Mamluks, Crusades, Ottomans, British, or now. I’m not here to be safe.

Nobody, least of all Jews, are safe anywhere. You can be as safe as you make yourself anywhere you are, though, by standing together with neighbors and friends, and refusing to let these fascist shits execute their plans on anyone, whether Jews, blacks, people who refuse to bow to PC pressures (real scary South Park episodes in Season 18 about the PC principal), queers (don’t have to like their lifestyle), etc.

By fascists, I mean Islamofascists and leftist ideologues who don’t tolerate dissent or persecute people based on their religion (one thing South Park’s PC Principal episodes did not touch on).

Resigning on principle is almost always grandstanding. If you want change, work for change.

If everyone resigned from Labour, there’d be nobody left but the extremists, who would have nobody to hide behind, and would be unable to stop themselves from saying what they really think, believing with all their heart that the country is truly behind them.

Although that may be true as a generalisation, it hasn’t until very recently been true of the British Labour Party. Historically, Jews have always been prominent in the party - indeed it’s most recent leader before Corbyn was a Jew: and the Laboue Party was very supportive of Israel in the young State’s early days, particularly when the Israeli Labour Party was in power. Even now, I don’t believe it’s a general problem with British Labour, only with a faction within the party.
